Questions on the character breakfasts...

We're going on a big family trip to DW in November. There will be 5 girls, ages 2-8. Also 2 boys, ages 4 and 11. We'd really love to do the Cinderella's Royal Breakfast - but will the boys be bored out of their minds? Would the boys enjoy any of it?

Also...is there a character breakfast that is more "boyish"? We may do both to make it fair...

I'd have to second Chef Mickey's. We had 5 kids (boys & girls) aged 13 to 4 and they just loved it. The buffet was helpful because not everyone had the same appetite/ food choices. There was plenty of character interation and enough time for autographs & photos.

I love 1900 Park Fare AND Chef Mickey's - Ohana's in the Polynesian is another really fun kid breakfast place with awesome food - and there's conga lines with the characters and everything. Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Chip and Dale were there when I went I think. My friends and I went on our last trip and highly recommend it!

Answer: Probably, YES

Would the boys enjoy any of it?

Answer: Most likely not.

If it is a big family, maybe consider splitting up and letting the boys go do boy things while the princesses have their princess breakfast.

I'm in the same situation as mlkoonce. We leave next Monday :sohappy: there are 11 of us going, 6 kids and 5 adults. I have never gone with such a large group :hammer: . My daughter is 6 years old and the only girl, so I'm looking for a character breakfast that will suit all, no princesses. Chef Michey's sound like the way to go. I also hear the Crystal Palace in MK has a good Winnie the Pooh Character breakfast. My little princess will have to cope with it. She will get her special treatment though, my sister (her favorite aunt) and my GF are taking her to the Grand Floridian for "Girl Time" they are going to have a tea party at the Grand Floridian 's tea room, white gloves and all, while my brother in law and I take her twin (boy) and all the other boys off to do guy stuff.

If you can get Cinderella's, then go for it. There are other characters there such as Peter Pan, Alice, Wendy etc. Chef Mickeys and the Crystal Palace are also excellent choices and personally I thing the food is better at these two.

Pam, you aren't by chance the aunt who sends her nephews pink bunny pajamas for Christmas are you? I can promise you that most 11 year old boys will not care one bit to spend time with Peter Pan, Alice, Wendy, or etc. Give them a stack of Mickey Mouse pancakes instead, or better yet, a bowl of cereal and an early admission to the parks while the sisters visit with Cinderella and Snow White. (In fairness, the 4 year old might like meeting Peter Pan.)

Sorry, but no.

A lot of kids don't care what characters are there. They just want to have a good time. I didn't see both kids ages when I posted. I saw the 4 not the 11 so I assumed it was 1 boy age 4.

My own personal preference is Chef Mickeys.

Hey, just kidding with you. I like Chef Mickeys, too. :slurp: It's not every day you get to eat your breakfast with monorail trains whooshing through your building.

Okay, I'm not used to these boards...

So I'm not sure how to reply to individuals, but...

We don't want to split the family - we want to experience all this stuff together - yet we don't want the girls to miss out on the castle. (most of the adults are interested in seeing the inside of the castle, the view, and etc too) It just seems like it's too good to pass up. We're going to do Mickey's Backyard BBQ, so we'll get plenty of Mickey interaction then... I was just hoping you all would tell me that the boys would like the castle dinner too...that there is at least SOMETHING they'd enjoy. :(

Anyway...is there any other way to get to view the inside of the castle???

Personally, I love Chef Mickey's it is a really great Character Meal. They have Breakfast and Dinner. My husband and I have gone there both time we have been to Disney the last 2 years and have really enjoyed it. Both the boys and girls would really have a great time all of the Characters come right to you table and you don't have to chase them down. When we were there this past November Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Chip and Dale, Minnie Mouse and Goofy were there. The only one that didn't come to the table was Goofy but he was available when you first walked in for picture with hardly no line.

I like the Character Breakfast at the castle but I don't know if the boys are going to like it. The other thing with the castle if you all want to see the inside of the Castle you can always make a Dinner Reservation. But if you are going to do that make sure you make a Priority Seating with Disney Reservation Center otherwise you will have a long wait. Hope this helps.

We were at WDW over Easter this year. We did Chef Mickey's and Ohana Character Breakfasts. Both were great. We were staying at the Polynesian so Ohana was convenient for us. We wanted to do Cinderella Castle but could not get a PS for breakfast so we had dinner there instead. With a large group I think Ohana is better suited in terms of seating. But both would be fine. If I remember, the same characters were at both places.

Character Breakfast

Hey all,

I can honestly say this. Out of all of the times that I have been to Disney I have not had a bad character breakfast. They are all good no matter where you go. Chef Mickey's @ the Contemporary Hotel is good if your in the mood for a Buffet. Ohana is good if you want to sit down and have everything served to you. Chef Mickey's gets crowded because there are several characters plus lots of kids, parents always seem to want to go to Chef Mickey's for the kids. Ohana is nice because you don't have as many people there and you can relax and enjoy the show the characters put on. I do remember years ago, now whether or not its still there or not is another story, but at one time they had a character breakfast @ Disney's Fort Wilderness Camp Ground in the Dinning Hall out by the Boat Launch to the Magic Kingdom. I know that they still do a Dinner show over there, which is worth while as well. :D

2007 for Epot's 25th Birthday
