That end of 192 is a real zoo. IF you head down to the other end, down near 27, there is much less traffic and you are closer to Disney. Several people on this board live here at the Alexan apartments. If you won't be moving here for another year, by then the new Wal-Mart will be open on 27, and I expect the extension of 429 across 192 down to I-4 will be well under way.

Another area to look at would be Hunter's Creek. Close to all of the businesses on Orange Blossom Trail, away from all the tourist junk shops and hotels along 192, and the Osceola Parkway gives you a quick route directly to the Disney property.

that end of 192 is near a suburban development called Buenaventura Lakes... if you want to move there, I would recommend it, but like was previously mentioned, it can be a real zoo. Try the Hunters Creek/Falcon Trace areas.... slightly less congested

Sorry to bring back this thread...but you guys seem to know this area well and I'm probably going to move into the same area within the next 3 months.

Looking at the Bermuda Lakes Apts, near the intersection of 192 and John Young.

Know if this is a good/safe area (I know it will be alittle congested)...or any other suggestions??

EDIT:

And while I'm writing...what are the advantages/disadvantages of living on 1st/2nd/3rd floor??

I live in the Metro West area so I'm about 30 mins from Disney. For me, I always rent on the main floor for one simple reason. It's a lot easier to move furniture w/o having to climb stairs. But, the down side is that you have someone above you and there will be noise issues but that's the same on the 2nd floor as well. My complex is three floors and the ones on the 3rd floor have vaulted ceilings...big deal! They also have to climb two flights of steps everyday go to the dumpster, grocery store, pool, etc. I like living on the main floor because it's usually cooler since heat rises. Good luck in your search and I hope you find something you like!

Hi, guys!

I would just like to say hello. I haven't had any time to come here, and I miss you all. I hope I can move to Orlando really quickly, maybe next year, who knows? I dream with the day when I will not have to leave Orlando anymore. Everytime I go there, it's worse to come back. Well, anyway, I hope you get the apartments you need for a good price, and have a great time in our favorite place!!!

I would reccomend staying away from 192 near the parks. Way too congested and it's a tourist zone. There are plenty of other areas outside of there that you can move too.

It is always best to rent when moving to a new area. It gives you time to explore the other surrounding areas to see what you like/dislike.

We moved from NY to Orlando and rented for 2 years until we recently found a house. I'm glad we didn't just buy something immediately cause it would have been a bad move. And you never know what your job situation will be or if you don't like living in a new place :)

If you ever move to Orlando, I think you should wave one of those tour group flags, but have it say WDWMagic and all of us can follow in tow :)

Wow, that must be tough. Trying to clear Visa or whatever you have to do to get into the country. Not to mention obtaining a job and all, which is usually the hard part for people.

Oh wait, what am I saying, anyone can get into this country. Disney has better security than the border patrol

We have to get a work/resident visa. That's very difficult. They are denying visas for anyone, even tourist visas. Last month they denied a visa of a flight attendant! Well, now the airline company is going into court against the consulate. They won't make it... My husband will never get a visa, unless we find a company that hires him there. My aunt is thinking of opening a branch of her travel agency there, so he would go as an employee. He would have the right to have a visa, then. Getting jobs is not that difficult. We know many people there already. Brazilian people who could get him a non-English-speaking job, and me a better one. Well, let's see what happens. Now I really gotta go, I am at work... :fork:

And NO, not anyone can get into the USA. The border patrol is paying close attention to everyone now...
