Questions for our trip!

This time tomorrow I will be at Disney! So excited! I do have just a few questions before we go. I know y'all have the answers!

First - Where can we meet Buzz and Woody? Since our last trip DS has become obsessed with Toy Story. I had no idea you could meet them, but saw pics posted in the General Discussion threads.

Second - If you weren't going into the parks on the first night and you could have dinner anywhere, where would you go?

Last - A million thank yous to everyone who shares their wealth of knowledge on this board every day. You are so kind to turn your love of Disney into information that leads to a wonderful trip for the rest of us!

ETA - How could I forget?? - Also, Prince Phillip? Where can we meet Prince Phillip? My DS has hardly any idea that Sleeping Beauty is about a princess. He thinks it is all about Prince Phillip and slaying the dragon! :-)

I've seen buzz around tomorrowland before... I've also seen the green army men around DHS sometimes :) They're great.

Boma, definitely! It's the buffet with african food. So delicious! (They have some 'regular' american food, though. There's a menu on allearsnet)

As for meeting Buzz and Woody, they have a meet and greet at Hollywood Studios across from Toy Story Mania. Get a guide map and times guide on the way in, because they are not there all day...It is nice since it has an indoor queue and meeting, so on a hot day it is OK.

As for Prince Phillip, I have never seen a character greeting with any of the princes save for Aladdin. He is in the Dream Along with Mickey Castle Show, but the only character greeting with Sleeping Beauty I have seen is in Mickey's Toontown and it is only three princesses.

Unless someone else has different info, you may be out of luck with Phillip for your DS. I second the vote for Boma as the best resort restaurant. It has some pretty eclectic African dishes, but some more mainstream ones as well and a pretty stereo-typical kids section with great chicken strips, mac n cheese, etc....

You can meet Buzz in Tomorrowland daily, near the carousel of progress or buzz lightyear's space ranger spin. You can meet Woody in the MK in Frontierland. He is part of a show called Woody's Cowboy Camp (I think that's what it's called). He also does meet & greets there.

There is also a meet & greet with Buzz and Woody in the new Pixar Place at Hollywood Studios.

As for where to eat - that's a tough one! So many places are great! I usually pick the Kona Cafe for our first night on our trip. We never do a park the first day. I like Kona because afterwards, we watch the MK fireworks & water show from the Poly beach. It gets us really excited for the rest of our trip to see the fireworks. You could also go to Ohana at the Poly, I just personally prefer Kona.

Prince Phillip is a relatively rare character but has been seen at the special parties that MK has (Christmas, Halloween, Pirate/Princess, etc). A few years ago, he was commonly seen with Aurora by the castle for a meet & greet, so it's possible that you may catch him there. You can always ask at City Hall too, and see if he's somewhere around the park that day.

Have fun!! :)

I believe this was one of the cuts that took place in September. Don't get your hopes up on this until you check it out.

As for first night dining, we love Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney. Sort of gets you in the spirit being down there if you aren't going to a park on the first day.

If you are going to a park, and it happens to be the MK, head over to Chef Mickeys - the kids will love it.
