Questions about touringplans

I am wondering about their subscription. Any experiences with it and/or thoughts are appreciated. Here are a few specific questions I have:

1 - Is there any chance there is some sort of discount code for a subscription when you by the book?

2 - Is it worth it to buy a subscription?

3 - If I buy a subscription for on my laptop, will it also work with an iphone app (without purchasing another sub for the phone app)?

Yes there is a discount when you but the book and if you but it you can use it on multiple devices, computers phones etc just use the same user name and password! As for the subsription it will depend on weather you are going to follow the plans and they have not readjusted them now that fast pass times are being enforced! If you are a first timer or haven't been there in a while I'd say yes other wise it's up to you!

We have a subscription and love it. I believe it's around $7 if you buy the book, so totally worth it if you are going to use their services. We use them every trip, but we are planners and like to have our park days all planned out ahead of time. It's a great way to make sure you get to ride everything you want, and you'll know what days to go to which parks. On the other hand, some folks just like to go with the flow and be more relaxed in their park experience. You certainly don't have to march around the park like commandos, but I'd say touring plans is geared more toward the "planners".

1. Yes. It's normally around $12, but more like $7 with the book discount.

2. Yes. Totally worth it. Living in Orlando, I still buy it. The Lines app alone is worth the cost.

3. I think you can, but I couldn't figure it out and ended up paying twice. If I ever see Len Testa in the parks, I'm going to beat him like Captain Caveman would for not making it easier for total morons to do that. My guess is that its easy for anyone with any tech sense/ability at all, though. When its time to renew, I'll make my son figure it out. (Sad day, when the kids are smarter than we are.). I didn't really care about paying twice, but my little badges are all screwed up, on different accounts and all that.

I got a subscription this year for the first time, with the discount from the book, and I love it. It's such a great tool for trip planning. Plus, I sometimes for fun see what the lines are like when friends are there, or if I'm just bored & curious how the parks are that day. I have a Droid, the but app works great on my phone without purchasing anything separate.

The subscription allows you to see more specifics about the crowd calendar which is nice. I didn't realize that prior to buying the subscription, but it's been very helpful in mapping out our upcoming trip.

I think it's worth it for sure! :)

It will definitely work on multiple devices, I have it loaded on pretty much every internet connected device we own as a family. Well worth the $12, so if you get it for less, all the better. I know they advertise discount codes on the WDWToday podcast pretty regularly, so they are out there.

FYI, the content from the book is duplicated on the site. It's obviously organized differently, but it's the same stuff online, just updated. If you have a subscription to the site, there's not a lot of need to get the book as well, unless you just like the experience of a book you can hold and carry around the parks with you.

On a final note, I thought they had updated the touring plans, at least the online versions, to reflect that FP return times are now being enforced. I used them on my trip in January, and it sure seemed like the FP times synced up with the plan just fine.

1. Yes, there is a discount if you buy the book.
3. YES, it is definitely worth buying! My family practically swears by their daily touring plans. We get so much done in a day and wait in almost no lines! Be aware, sometimes the custom plans take a few tries to turn out the way you want. Overall, though, the site and plans are excellent! Also, their crowd calendars per park actually make a difference. Their predictions are spot on. Any day we have varied from their recommendation and gone to a park with a predicted high-crowd day, we have had noticeably longer lines.
2. Yes, it works for all devices, including apps

The podcast advertises discounts, too. I forget the percentage on the discount, but remember thinking, "The book discount is better."
