Questions about Disney's Beach Club Villas

I would like to purchase points for Disney Beach Club Villas. I know that I will have to go the resale route in order to do this and I'm fine with that.

I have heard that it is quite hard to get a two bedroom villa or a studio at the BCV.

So, question #1:
What type of room do you reserve, what dates do you usually reserve and when do you usually reserve it. (yes, that is actually 3 questions in one)

I am interested in finding the best financing for the resale points that I purchase.

So, question #2:
If you bought your points through resale, did you use the timeshare store's mortgage group they referred you to or did you finance through someone else?

subquestion #2a:
How long and at what rate did you get your mortgage?

Any help would be appreciated.

We've stayed at BCV 3 times. First trip was a split stay between a studio (F and Sat) and a 1 BR(Su-F) in March. Second and third trips were 7 nights each in a studio (one in March, the last in January). The third trip we had to go on a waitlist for some of the nights (it was the marathon weekend) but it all came through about two months before the trip. We usually book at the 7 month window (we own at VWL) but have found availability at 4 months without much trouble.
We bought through Disney and paid cash so I can't help you on the second part.

We just stayed in a 2 bdrm at Beach Club Villas Jan 8-18. This is not our home resort, so we were only able to book 7 months in advance. We didn't have a problem getting a room at this time, but I suppose January is one of their slow times.

Thank you both for the information. I believe I will purchase BCV points. I love the area and it is very convenient since we spend most of our time in epcot.

I think from now on we will go the second or third week in january and stay at least 10 days.

We have points at the BCV and I'd beyond recommend it. It's got a wonderful pool and is a five minute walk to Epcot and a twenty minute walk to MGM. We've never had a problem booking 1 or 2 BRs, but we don't stay in studios so I wouldn't know about them. If you book eleven months in advanced of your trip, you won't have a problem getting a room, its when it hits the seven months in advanced part that it becomes difficult because the resort opens up to other DVC members. So just remember to book eleven to eight months in advanced of your trip and you'll be fine.

Hope this helped =]

That's what we did! We went the January 8-18. The points are less at that time & the time was just perfect. A week just doesn't seem like long enough. Congratulations!

Thank you all for your responses. We will probably buy around november and look for a seller that will have banked their '07 or '08 points so that we can book a two bedroom villa January of 2009.
