questions about AAA parking?

I'm going to get park hopper tickets, probably through AAA (I know Undercover Tourist is cheaper, but not by much).

If I get the AAA park hopper tickets, does that give me better parking at the parks? Does it fill up? Or do I only get the good parking if I stay on property?

I didn't buy my plane tickets through AAA, but I did reserve my rental car through their website if that makes a difference.

I have used AAA everytime we book because of the free up front parking, usually right next to the handicap! I do not know if you stay off of the property if you get the parking pass. We usually book our rooms, tickets and what not through AAA. We love the parking pass especially at Epcot, very close and you don't have to wait for the buses. Have Fun!

I was unaware of the AAA special parking pass. Do you have to pay for it or just show your card? Can you get it if you only buy Tix from them as we are DVC and do not need room ressie? Up front parking sounds great!!!!

I think it is only free if you stay on property. I think all guests who stay on property get free parking at the parks, even if they don't book through AAA.

package

You have to book a package with AAA Hotel and passes to get the
AAA parking, you can't buy it separte. You can get them on ebay, works
for the whole year.

You definitely only get the pass if you book a Magic Your Way Package with AAA or CAA. Room only does not get you the pass. Showing your card at the gate will not get you into the special area either. You have to have the coupon from AAA/CAA. Techinically it is only supposed to be valid for the duration of that trip, but it has an expiry date of the end of the year, and they do not take it from you. You could use it on another non-AAA package if you don't feel guilty doing it. :animwink:

I have purchased my Park Hopper tickets through AAA nearly every visit. Many of those trips included off site timeshare stays! Each time I went to pick-up my hopper tickets I asked for the Diamond Parking Pass and they gave me one no questions asked. I usually travel at vey busy times July and August and have never had an issue with the parking being filled up!

This is what I needed to hear. We will buy the tix through AAA then. Ill have to check to see if they have all lengths of passes though. Guess I can stop production on the make shift handicapped placard. :zipit: J/k

I think it's going to depend on who is working the day you buy them and if they are in a generous mood, or perhaps if they don't know the policy. But their policy is that you get the parking with the purchase of a whole package.

As others have said you can buy them on ebay for about $10. Worth it to me in peak season and peak heat.

Someone at AAA is being VERY nice to you. It's not suppose to work that way. As stated, room must be booked for Disney property to get the AAA parking pass.:sohappy:

When I bought park tickets last year at AAA, they offered me the parking pass too, but I didn't need it since we weren't renting a car, but I've seen the parking areas for AAA and while they seem close in some parks they aren't really that close, for instance MK when you park there you have to walk since the tram doesn't stop there.

AAA Parking

I ordered (and received) my MK tix through AAA website. The AAA Diamond Parking pass was included in the envelope that my tix were delivered in. From reading all the "boiler plate" on the AAA website, as long as you buy your park tix through the AAA website, you will receive the parking pass as well (so, no need to book your whole trip through them). We are staying off property (Reunion Resort), and I'm hoping the AAA parking privilege will help out a little. (Trip planned for 8/2-10/08)

When I checked in June, the office here only had 4 or 5 day hoppers available. Nothing else.

They also usually carry the 6 day hopper, plus water parks & more, but that seems to be all they have. However, if you buy a 5 day hopper, you can always upgrade it when you get there to 7, 8 or however many days you need. The only thing you will pay will be the difference in price from a 6 day to 7 day, you don't lose the AAA purchase discount by doing this, because they use a full value ticket price when figuring the difference of adding days to the existing ticket.
