Are there any extinct attractions where you like both the former attraction and the attraction that replaced it?

Personally, while I loved the first Test Track, I like the new version too. I'm not sure which version I think is better.

I like the old version of Test Track better. I also liked the extinct attraction that came before it, World of Motion. Spaceship Earth showcased the history of communications with solemnity; World of Motion showcased the history of transportation with a wicked sense of humor!
I like the Winnie the Pooh ride that replaced Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, but I still like Toad better. I loved Tomorrowland's If You Had Wings, a ride sponsored by the now extinct Eastern Airlines. They replaced that with Dreamflight by Delta, which was okay. I went on it a lot because the lines were always short. Now Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters is there. That I expect to be there for a long, long time, given that my cousin's kid wanted to ride it again and again when my parents brought him to Magic Kingdom.
All in all, I miss extinct attractions, but I try to be open minded to the attractions that take their place and usually like them, too. I just wish there was a way to keep both the old and the new.

Depends on how loosely you are willing to define "attraction that replaced it". My daughter made us take her on Snow White's Scary Adventures no less than 20 times during the course of one of our early visits. I really enjoyed that attraction. If you consider 7DMT it's spiritual successor, I have to say that I really really like 7DMT. I love the combination of scene and thrill and the face projection technology on the dwarves is really well done.

In similar fashion, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that as much as I really loved Maelstrom, I'm willing to bet we'll enjoy the Frozen ride too. (I'll see myself out before you break out the pitchforks)

Not really a direct replacement though... since Legend of the Lion King(Staged Puppet show) and some 3D? film (that I can not recall the name of) were both in there between these 2.

Well, I had a very long gap before I returned. And why not? It's reused space.

:p

But seriously, I enjoyed both SWSA and 7DMT, though I think I prefer 7DMT over Snow White's Kinda Spooky But Not Really Adventures

I liked the old version of Test Track more because it really felt like...a test...track. All the different stages created more of a storyline whereas the new one is like...pretty colors here and there...numbers that don't really mean much...etc. The ride is still fun and the new theme would never deter me from riding!

Other than that... I liked Honey I Shrunk the Audience more than Captain EO. :hungover:

We thought the original Tiki Room was just OK the first 10 or so times... Then when the New Management came it, we really enjoyed it as the show had much more excitement with Zazu/Iago and the Tiki Goddess. When they reverted back... we were very disappointed and we have only been once(and no need to go back) since the reverted back. We won't even go for the AC relief! :D

You hit the nail on the head. I agree, all these past rides were great, and I was so worried when they changed them, but they ended up just as good, if not better. Along with If You Had Wings to Buzz Lightyear and the update to Star Wars I thought made it even better.[/QUOTE]
