Question...

We need time for things to happen.
If you have never been, I would take all the posts you just read and ignore them (no offense to all my friends).

If you're looking for some insider information as to when to get to the parks, best places to eat etc. etc. (which it sounds like you already did in some other threads) then that's fine.

But for me to tell you what disappointed or thrilled me isn't going to do you any good.
My expectations are going to be totally different from yours.

Here's my take about WDW - Your first time? You're going to be overwhelmed.
Either in a good way or a bad way.

Chances are which ever way your "whelmed" will determine if WDW is the place for you.

Personally - you found these boards, you're poking around asking, questions, planning, making all the right moves, you're set up to make all the right moves.

Thrills, excitement and memories (both expected and unexpected)? You'll have many and you'll cherish every one.

Disappointments (expected and unexpected)? Well save that for after you've gone a million times and your a jaded, "know it all" like the rest of us around here. ;)

Next week will be our 4th trip to Disney. Although I've never been during the "glory days," I've not had any disappointments and never knew about these disappointements until I came to this website. I was always so happy just to be there. My advice to you is to not worry about any disappointments (especially what's disappointing to someone else, which may not bother you in the least), don't sweat the small stuff, just think of all the fun you're going to have!

Disappointing: Check-in has been a disaster lately. Even when we have done the online checkin before arrival, it's been a clown show. A few years ago, online checkin seemed to run much smoother. The last couple years, it's taken a long time to check in and it's as if they didn't know we were coming.

Once you get past that, you're golden. It's the little things and the attention to detail that you come to really appreciate.
