DH almost pulled the trigger on DVC last year. I have a question about banking & borrowing points.

You can't bank & borrow at the same time to have three years of points, can you? It's either/or?

Yes, you can bank and borrow at the same time. So, if you're going in July 2017, you can bank your 2016 points (before the end of that use year!) into 2017. And then you can borrow 2018 Use Year points into 2017, to consolidate them all and use for one big stay.

There are other rules about banking and borrowing, and very strict time time restrictions on when you have to do it. Plus, it's all based on your Use Year, not a calendar year.

But generally speaking, if you're OK going once every 3-4 years, you can definitely do what you're asking.

At this point, we've been going every two to three years, so this would work well for us, depending on the Use Year. Thank you!

Every 2-3 years works well for us and DVC. We own 200 pts, but almost every trip has been in the 300-350 pt. range, with one stay using almost 450 pts.
