I'll be staying in Value Sports resort in two week and I was just wondering how it is? Are the pools ok and also how is the food court? And one last question, do they have Mellow Yellow? (That is for my Dad btw)

not good...

Personally....I like the hotel but we have had check in problems...room problems..room key problems everytime we had gone. Pools are ok. But the organization is poor and aggrevating.

sports is my favorite of all the values, but i highly recomend surfs up for the extra $ , its the closest to the main pool, food , and buses. there is only one
bus stop and the resort is huge, plus the surf theme and music is as tropical
as you can get for a value resort

No Mello Yellow at Disney Parks. Only Coke products. I don't even think they have Mountain Dew.

Mello Yellow is distributed by Coca-Cola, atleast in Louisiana. Dr.Pepper is too, but no Doc Pepp at WDW. I did find Mr. Pibb in the drink machine outside of EPCOT though.
Mountain Dew can be found where Pepsi products are sold.

As far as AS sports, we stayed there twice. We thought it was cool, the only bad thing was the bus service, but what can ya do?

Yeah MellowYellow is Coke, they had it at Riverside when I stayed there as Dixing Landings, and also at Caribbean Beach, but not at POP for some reason. My dad is obsessed with it because they stopped selling it where I live, so he always looks forward to it when we get down there.

We had to go all the way to For Wilderness Lodge to buy a bottle of it from there store the last time we went.

All Star Sports is okay. Been there a few times myself. Stayed in the Surfs Up building both times. It can be very noisey in the morning with kids running up and down the hallways. The pool is big.

The food court is very crowded in the morning (esp if the cheerleaders are on property). There is a good choice of items for breakfast and dinner.

Hope you have a great trip!!

I've also stayed there and liked it. The pool is big, but it can get kind of crowded with a bunch of kids who don't look where they're going ;)

Food court was also good. Have a fun trip!

We LOVE the sports... it's our favorite All Star - we've never had any problems checking in or with our room... but we always stay in the preferred building... It's our favorite - you're close to everything, and that section is gorgeous! Especially first thing in the morning.. the surfboards, and lifeguard towers are really fun! The pools are wonderful, quite enjoyable, and the food court is standard for all stars - nothing fantastic... but nice all the same. As for the Mellow Yellw - I'd just pick some up, either before you go (if you're driving) or when you arrive (if you're flying) b/c they don't sell it on property... :)

Have an awsome trip and enjoy yourself!

Mellow Yellow at ASMo in late Janauary...my son drank gallons of the stuff.

We have stayed at PC twice and ASMo once...no problems that would have overshadowed the price we paid. Pool was closed of a while at ASMo, but no big deal...it was winter and we wouldn't have spent a lot of time there anyway.

We've stayed at Sports twice, both during ultra busy spring break weeks. We thoroughly enjoyed both stays without any problems. Even with the resort at full capacity, we still had quick service at the food court, relatively good bus service, and plenty of room in the pool.

Enjoy your trip!

i love the sports!!! its my fave value resort any of the all stars i would choose.

the sports is fab, oh my god where do i start. when i went i stayed in the american football area on the bottom floor right by the baseball section.
where i was put is right by the food court and so close to the baseball pool.
i couldnt hear anyone either side of my room. the food court is big and it has a wide variety of food for all types (try the banana bread platter with grapes, strawberrys and banana bread and a whipped thing which is totally delish:slurp: ), the CM in the food court are really helpful and friendly they use to make me laugh.
all the sport sections are close to the food courts so its not long walk. the baseball pool is the quiet pool in my opinion, if you wanna catch the sun that is the area to do it in coz there are no trees or bushes about to cloud over you, the laundry rooms are by the pools.
there is a resort shop which sells food ie donuts, crisp, beer, soda including mellow yellow and if its not there you can get it from the vending machines at MGM by the bus stops.
vending machines in all themed areas by the lifts, theming is excellent not over done like PC just the right amount - i loved it and i cant wait to return.

people go on about the bus system coz it goes to the sports first (usually) then music then movies. there are always more buses coming for AK coz its in AK resort area.

rooms are big and spacious. sink big and water in tap comes out like normal unlike PC where it comes out slow. room was always spotless couldnt fault it.

if you walk around the resort and go to the top level of baseball section you can see all star music and movies and there is a flower garden.

on my last trip i went back to get a banana bread platter so i could have some propper food and get my vitamins.

look at the hall of fame which has pics of sports stars but i dont know why tim hennman is on there :veryconfu . thats the lobby area right by the shop and food court. dont forget to buy the resort mug coz they are worth it!

as i said before its awesome, i loved it.:sohappy:

I am an absolute huge fan of the All Star Sports; I would recommend the baseball hotel which has a really nice pool and is not too far from the food court and bus stop. Mentioned before however, we have had past experiences with not getting the "pool view" room that we wanted and room keys not working. Over all, I think it is the best resort at Disney if you have kids.

i didnt go with any kids and had one of the best times of my life. loved the resort.had to explain something to check-in CM and she understood and was cool about it.

resort always clean and as i said before everyone was helpful and happy towards me. couldnt fault it one bit!!!

my room was on the bottim floor of the football section close to the pool and of a night peole who didnt know each other played football together it was so cool watching that and seeing the little children doing there touchdown dance -that was cute and funny. loved every minute of it. everything is close to others like the food court, any of the pools.

loved every minute of it. cant wait to go back!!!!!!!:sohappy:

I've stayed there three times (Surf's Up bldg. twice and Hoops bldg. once. Surf's up is the best.) We've had great service there. For example, in Dec. we arrived a day early (my mistake) and they not only accomodated us, they put us in a preferred room that first night and allowed us to stay there for the rest of the trip! :sohappy:

It's been mentioned before but I'll note it again: AS Sports is typically the first pick-up and the first drop-off on the All Star Resorts bus route. This is especially nice at the end of the day when you are tired and are ready to get back to your room ASAP.
