question on room catagory

I have booked the following room catagory and when looking at the ship deck plans there are 3 rooms on each side of the ship on deck 8 and I think 2 on each side on deck 9. Thats not alot!!! My status for my room is GYA which I have read means I will not get assigned a room number? is this correct and do they every over book a room catagory and have to change your catagory?

Hi is this on the Dream/Fantasy or Magic/Wonder? I know that GYA means they will assign you a room before check-in and I don’t think they change your category… it would of said not available then. I wouldn’t worry about it but you can always call and ask.

This is the disney dream the rooms are on the sides of the ship but very back.

It's a GTY rate. This means that particular category is nearly sold out. You are guaranteed at least the stateroom category you booked (in your case, 06A) but you could be bumped into a higher category if they need to do that when assigning the last staterooms. It's not that they overbook categories. When they get close to selling out a particular category they will start doing the guarantee bookings. Basically you're booking without being able to select your stateroom. We had a GTY booked once. Our room assignment came a little over a month from sailing and I was not pleased. We were right above a night club. No way! So I had my trusty TA change us to a category I could pick my room & paid a small upgrade fee. Just watch for your room assignment to come. If you don't like what you get you can try for a change.
