do you have to scan a code at the store to get in line or can you join like ROR use to do, from anywhere within a certain range?

From what I've seen, they just have an employee standing outside who takes your cell number, and then they text you. So yes, it seems you do have to physically be at the store to get in the virtual queue.

Perhaps if you had asked your question in the WDW Restaurants, Dining and Snacks area instead of the General Parks threads, you would have received a quicker answer. I had to look it up to figure out what you were talking about. I never really spend that much time in Disney Springs, myself...

What exactly is Gideons? I saw so many bags, thought I'd take a look, then saw the queue and decided I'd done enough queuing during this trip.

It's awful, you shouldn't go, tell all your friends that too.... ;)

Really for me it's a must go, worth the wait. They make a lot of really delicious baked goods (cookies/cakes) and has this creepy but friendly gothic vibe that I like too.

Was lucky when we were in FL that the original location is in a smaller marketplace with some other cool shops around it and has far less the hype/crowds if you want to save the virtual queue!

^Yes, this^
It was about a 3 hour wait when we went there in December from sign up to when they notified us it was our turn. When we arrived to got on line it was about 15 minutes and we were inside. According to staff, they can have waits over 8 hours.

It is really good and for the most part, worth the wait.

Their specials typically sell out earlier in the day

I think since we are going to have a car we might drive over to the other location and try to avoid the DS line. We are planning for monster cookies and maybe some cake for DS bday.
