Question on FL Resident Pass Upgrade

Just wondering if anyone has had a Discover Disney pass, added park hopper, and then later upgraded to a seasonal or annual pass. I have a 3 day discover Disney for an upcoming trip, and will likely upgrade it to seasonal passes during the trip. That being said... the $139 will go right toward the seasonal pass, but if I upgrade to a park hopper (what is that, another $50 per ticket or so?), will THAT money go directly to the seasonal pass too? I'm assuming it will. If so, then adding the park hopper option will wind up not costing me any more if I eventually upgrade to a seasonal pass anyways...

(I've been a seasonal pass holder for several years in the pass, just never went the upgrade route to do it!)

Well, let's do the math (before taxes):

First, let's look at the ticket/pass prices.
Discover Disney 3-Day Basic: $139
Discover Disney 3-Day Park Hopper: $163.50
Discover Disney 3-Day Park Hopper and Water Park Fun: $193.50
FR Seasonal Pass: $350.39

No matter which Discover Disney ticket you have, you're just paying the difference to upgrade to the seasonal pass. You don't have to upgrade to a park hopper DD ticket to upgrade to the seasonal pass. If you want the seasonal pass (with park hopper built in, obviously), I recommend just upgrading directly to it.

You would pay a difference of $211.39 ($350.39 FRSP - $139 DD = $211.39) to upgrade to the seasonal pass.
