Question on Early Entry for Non-Park Guest

I am having my 17 yr old son come to WDW on the 3rd day of a 4 day family visit. The rest of the family is staying at the Contemporary all w/Ultimate Park Hopper passes. I have an old Park Hopper Pass with 2 days left on it that my son will be using. Will my son be able to enter the parks on the Extra-Magic-Hour days with the rest of us? Any strategies???

Thanks in advance.

I haven't taken advantage of EE since they started it back up, but from what I remember about it from before they didn't really check to see if you were a resort guest. I think they just start running transportation from the resorts and not from the parking lots. I could be totally way off here though. Anyone else care to help with this answer?

Last trip they were making anoncements that it was only for park guests to enter yet, but not checking. I think that if he is with you, that is enough. Not all members staying in a room need to have a room key, so therefore they wouldn't not have proof where he is saying.

I think AGBennie is right. I think they do allow you in the parking lot, but only if you have a resort parking piece of paper. So be sure to bring him with you, not have him meet you there.

They never asked us where we were staying (WL) and I didn't hear them ask others.

I think you should be fine.

:veryconfu After an hour? Don't worry, people will see it! Just give them a chance. :) I don't have an answer for you but I suspect that PhD is correct. Anyway, have a nice trip!

When we were down at the beginning of the month they actually checked our resort id's at the gate at AK. I was very suprised.

Your son is a minor, he'll be staying with you, he has a valid park ticket, and you will have Contemporary room keys - I think this will add up to no problem. It would take a very hard-hearted Disney employee to admit everyone in the family EXCEPT your son.

Have him meet you at the Contemporary and travel to the park WITH you.:animwink:

Aren't the ticket readers at the entrances able to distinguish between ticket types - the last time I stayed on site, the room key doubled as the park ticket

Yes your room key can double as a park ticket, but only if you buy your ticket at the front desk. If you get them ahead of time at the Disney Store, have an annual pass or are using old passes you had before, it is not part of your key card.

There are many resort guests that use passes that are not part of the resort key card. Or Guests who for whatever reason leave don't bring the key card with them to the parks.

I show my resort key as well a picture ID every time I board a bus. I do get funny looks, but it says so right on the back of the key. Why would people ignore the rules in this ever dangerous world?
