Question on biometrics and minors

Hi, I wanted to know if anyone would think this be an option. We are going to Disney the last week of June and taking a family friend with us. My wife and I and our daughter all have new RF tickets we exchanged last year from pre 2006 park hoppers. We have one pre 2006 park hopper for our son who is not going on this trip that is not exchanged yet for an RF ticket. Our plan was to exchange the ticket for the family friend to use, since he is a minor he does not have id. We would put the ticket in our sons name and when he went to use the ticket whenever he goes back, he should be able to show id since the biometric will most likely not match. Do you think this is an option to save the cost of a 1 day admission ticket for our young family friend?

No. Once a person uses a Magic Your Way ticket, all subsequent admissions are specific to that person and cannot be transferred to anyone else.

If you have not yet used a ticket, you may transfer it to another person.

You may also buy a new theme park ticket online or at the theme park Main Entrance.

For your safety and convenience, we ask that you read the Walt Disney World Resort park rules before you arrive.

Correct. I'm simply referencing general policy with regards to tickets and biometrics.

Will it work? Almost certainly yes. The new ticket you get for exchanging the old ticket won't have any biometrics so these will be first set at first use.
Then when you come to use the ticket next, if will likely be rejected but showing the id will likely get it reset - especially for a child their biometrics are not going to be highly reliable after a period of time.

However, if is completely against Disney's park rules and breaks the conditions on the ticket.
It is probably also considered fraud.

What you choose to do is completely your own choice.

It's not a loophole in the policy - it specifically phohibits such. But it is a loophole in the controls they have to detect and prevent such abuse. However, all considered the number of people who would be able to do this would be quite small; even less will actually think about doing it / realise they could do it; and even less will actually attempt it. I would say with a high degree of certainty that the cost to Disney of preventing this form of abuse would significantly outweigh their resulting losses incurred from tolerating the risk of it happening.

Doesn't really matter that it's a minor, could do this for twin adults, siblings who look very similar, etc. ? Didn't someone say when the biometrics fail, they are taking photos??? "I don't know what's wrong with your crappy scanner...it's ME! Can't you see?" Just have the biometric reset each visit when the other person uses the ticket...NOW does it seem like stealing or ticket fraud? :cautious:

This situation will probably work, but don't be po'd if it does not.

Technically this is not allowed as you are tranferrimg a ticket, but very little chance Disney would figure out it is not the same person. Biometrics probably are lost after so many years.

I found a loophole in Best Buy's system tonight. I walked out with a laptop I didn't pay for, when there was no security guard at the front door. I just held the box up above the detectors as I walked through the door, so it didn't set off the alarm.

Pretty sweet. Free laptop. I never intended on buying a laptop there anyway, so no harm, no foul. Jackpot!

After a long night of no sleep I took all the replies to heart and have abandoned my plan. Thanks to all those who pointed out how wrong I am for thinking about this. I hope you all feel relieved that you saved me from commiting a felony.

Also I will always drive the speed limit and not one mile over like I'm sure everyone does who compared my trying to use a ticket I paid for as the equivalent of stealing a laptop that is not paid for.

Rules are rules they are never followed 100% of the time....by anyone including those who put their two cents in when it wasn't asked for.

This wouldn't be an issue at all of Disney wasn't going for a simple money grab to stop resellers from selling used tickets at a discount. When I go to the state fair and I have tickets left over and I give them to another child because we are leaving there is no issue with that. Again simple money grab.

Regardless I won't be reading this thread anymore so so don't waste time relpying back because it will go on deaf ears.
