Question for Resort CMs

Say a guy has a reservation for a couple of rooms for a number of nights - booked through a travel agent or through Disney's central reservations - and he decides to add a night on the front end, but the travel agent and/or the 407 WDISNEY hosts check and can't find two rooms for the one additional night at that particular hotel.

Question: Does it do any good to get ahold of the particular resort's direct telephone line to speak to someone right there on site?

Worst case scenario, book a room elsewhere for the night (on Disney Property). Don't unpack when you get there. Check out early and tell them you want your bags sent to your room at your next resort. They will transport them for free, and you can go to the park. Whenever you feel like going to the new resort, go and check in. If your room is ready you can go in and most likely your bags will be waiting there for you. It is really easy, especially for one night.

Thanks!

Thanks to both of you for your replies. I have been on Expedia and have seen that I can book the whole trip through them for a rack rate at a different moderate resort, but getting one day added to a pre-existing reservation at the Coronado Springs has been impossible, so far. And with all those rooms!

Spend the night at the all stars the night before. It will save you some cash and it will be really close to Coronado. You can check in at Coronado first thing in the morning if you want.
