I really like Living with the Land because it is real. Plus, it is such a fun ride. I actually do find it as a must ride. I find though that the changes for The Land will really help out the pavilian. Food Rocks was only good when a Latin American College tour group happened to be in the same theatre as you.

On a similar note. I do like Mission Space and Test Track more than what they replaced. (mission space because everytime I went Horizons was closed/or being town down).

Rsox - the reason I brought up WoM was because it sounded like your kind of ride when you described how Living with the Land should change: humor and education. World of Motion was a comedy that educated, unlike Living (or "Listen"), which added to the diverse ways of storytelling during Epcot's opening years.

We are supposed to stick to the spiel script. Certainly a few words can be changed, but if you go too far off script and the greenhouse workers hear, they are supposed to talk to your manager. Some just put more flair into saying the spiel.
I'm sad to hear that. I was on the first greenhouse intern staff to have to "listen in" on the spiels. I felt it really harmed both the show itself and morale between the boat ops and interns. I know it is not the decision of any of the Land managers or Epcot science managers (WDI's decision), but I still wish the Land teams could do something about the situation. Do you think the boat ops would prefer to be script free, or do they like having it set? Just curious.

TheLand- I do know a Jimmy, but he only works the boat ride once in a while. He was there on Thursday since we needed more staffing.

Epcot82Guy- It's hard to say what people would like more. When learning, it is probably better to learn a script, but afterwards it is 50/50. There are a lot of CP's at The Land, and it is a double edged sword. They get bored saying the same spiel over and over, but don't care enough to make up their own.

Hey Grizz: Merry Christmas

My Wife and I love LwL ourselves, and think it's fine as is. The ride does what it's supposed to do. I think the thrill crowd just needs a chill pill. I for one DO NOT want a theme park of roller coasters, with no back story or connection to Disney. Could you imagine the out-cry from the "tradionalists?"

I believe that some of the other pavilions could use some work with updated technology, but let's remember that the parks are all themed first, with the kids in mind. From there you have to make the connection to teen-agers, then adults. That can be a tough task, but Disney has always managed to make this happen above and beyond my expectations.

We have to be careful to NOT give in to this gen x and gen z crowd that wants a thrill a minute, or they're going elsewhere. Soon enough, these crowds will have children themselves, who will then want to come to WDW, and DL.

I for one am willing to give up some of these crowds, in order to keep the LOYAL guests who come year after year, because of the legacy and history of the company.

Just to defend a bit here, I am very much a "Generation Z" thrill seeker, and I still greatly enjoy the other attractions. Thrill Rides are great and wonderful at Disney, but they should not replace other attractions that are equally well done. Just have to defend my age-group!:D

No problem there Epcot. I certainly understand where you are coming from. We too enjoy the thrill rides that Disney offers, but also love just as much the more "traditional" if you will, Disney rides. I agree they shouldn't be replaced with "thrill rides" for the sake of attracting these crowds, is what I was referring to.
