Question about WDW-MK Welcome Show + Staying Offsite

Our family will be in WDW in September and in all my years that I have been to Disney we have never gotten there early enough to catch the MK welcoming show. We are staying offsite and plan to drive to the park in the morning and were wondering, for offsite travelers, if there is any advice or recommendations on ensuring we make it into the park in time to catch the show.

I heard the Monorail supposedly starts transporting guests at 8:30am from the MK TTC and I know the welcoming show at MK starts at around 8:50am. Just seems like it might be a very small window of opportunity to be there for the show if I am not on the very first Monorail pickup at the MK TTC.

I guess I am just trying to figure out what is the best time to arrive at the MK Parking and all that.

Be in the MK parking lot NO LATER THAN 8 am. Earlier is even better. When you arrive at at the TTC, head for the ferry as that will be running before the monorail will. The welcome show has been starting as early as 8:40 am and for best viewing you need to be through the turnstiles. Remember you will have to go through the line at security (assuming you have bags) before going through the admission line at the turnstiles. That's why getting there early is important.

VERY IMPORTANT ~ Do not plan to go to MK on a Thursday and expect to see the welcome show. Resort Guests have early entry at 8 am and the welcome show precedes that. Offsite guests are held at the TTC during morning EMH so you would miss the show.

Express monorail won't be running at opening time next month so be ready for slower transit times. 8am would be good. It's actually worth it.

Thank you for that information. Turns out we have 7:30 am reservations at the contemporary for breakfast. We will probably valet the car and walk from there after breakfast.
