question about value resorts

My questions go off memory from 6 years ago :)

1. Do the value resorts have a microwave anywhere that one can use? To possibly heat up a baby bottle, and if they do do you have access to it at all hours of the night?

2. I believe the soda machines were shut of at a certain time. Is this still true?

3. On most coffee machines there is that little spigot for hot water for tea bags and stuff like that. Do they have these and do you have access to it 24 hours?

Thanks everyone if you can answer these questions :)

I believe the areas that have the microwave and hot water are accessible all the time. The actual serving line areas close but the areas with tables not closed off.

Ha Ha...speaking of hot shower. Has anyone ever been at Disney when the power went out. We were one year and when it came back on about 30 min later the hot water ran out. When we called they said it hapens wen the power goes out the gas shuts off to the water heaters and must be reset. Dont know if this is true or not but ever since when the power has gone off we take quick showers fast if we want hot water.
Now back to the subject, there are microwaves and they are out in the open all night but the soda machines close at midnight.

I was just at pop, and i don't remember them shutting off all the soda machines. I do remember them closing two of the section and keeping only the one open.

I guess it depends if we're talking about Pop or the All Stars. At the All Stars the gate to the food court gets lowered at midnight.

You can always go to the front desk and they should always be able to help. If you have to heat your baby bottle to getting hot water. If you go up to the desk they should be able to help. They have break rooms and what not in the back that i am sure they would help you out with.

The food court where the soda machines are at POP closes at midnight. They lock the doors that lead to the food court area at midnight, so you will not be able to get in there. The food court area and shop are open from 6am - midnight.

If you're going to be heating a baby bottle at the wee hours you will have to a)just use hot water from the tap (which takes a while and is not a great option if you have a screaming child waiting for milk), b) buy one of those bottle warmers and bring it with you, or c)upgrade to a family suite which comes with a microwave (more expensive but worth it in my opinion).

*Note; family suites are only available at the All Star Music resort.

Although the food court closes at midnight, the vending machines in the room buildings do not so you'll be able to get sodas from there at any time.

As far as a microwave, the front desk office generally has a microwave and for things like baby bottles you can ask the front desk CM if they will heat it up for you. Generally they will as long as it is not super busy.

Thought I'd add my own recollections to the discussion, just to confuse things even more. ;)

At Pop, because the merchandise area is directly attached to the Food Court with no way of separating and securing it from the food court, the entire "Everything Pop" food and shopping areas closed at midnight.

At All-Star Music, I distinctly remember being able to go into the food court late at night and refill my mug from the single machine that was still running. The counters were closed, and the loose merchandise out by the registers was put away, but because the gift shop is separate they were able to leave it open.
But I'll admit, this was back around 1998-2000. It is highly possible that operations have changed since then.

(And as a side note, I remember the soda machine at CBR's food court staying open after closing, though the last time I stayed there was before their big fod court remodel)

Why would they shut down the drink machines at midnight?

Because if they didnt there is noone there to monitor them, people would take drinks they havent payed for and if something happened noone would be there to fix it. Do they have coffee makers at PoP, im not a coffee drinker so I dont remember but couldnt you make a pot of hot water and sit the bottle in it to warm it up. I wouldnt use the coffee pot water for the bottle cause of the mold that forms in those machines from them sitting with water inside for days on end.
