Question about the Monorails

Monorails

I believe the monorails begin operating during peak times, at 7 am. And resort guests can gain a hour early access on selected days, to selected parks.

When you headed that way?

You can also check Birnbaum's Guide, which I beleive lists some operating times. I'll check mine.

According to my "Passporter" book, they start at 7 am and run till one and a half hours after the park closes.

I cannot find my book that tells about early entry, but I read somewhere that you can enter the park around 30 minutes early but are restricted to certain areas. Like MK you can come in on Main Street but no further. Epcot was to SSE and I think AK was to the Tree. I will see if I can find my reference.

In July the monorails started operating at 7am every day. Main Street open at 8:50am on non early entry days and 8am on early entry days.

I found it!

In "Walt Disney World with Kids" (my version is for 2002). It states you can enter early, but not how much earlier, bu they suggest you be in as far as you can 15 minutes before the park opens to get in first.

MK is the length of Main Street until you reach the ropes.
Epcot is to the central plaza between the two sides of Innoventions.
MGM you can walk down Hollywood Boulevard.
AK you are allowed into the Oasis.

Hope this helps. The newest version of this book is due out August 26 for 2004 and I already have it ordered for our trip in Oct.

OK, first of all Early Entry opens 1 hour before park opens, sometimes 1 and a half hours. and in the Mk you have access to tomorrowland, and fantasyland, and maybe adventure land. This is fact, as i was there 2 weeks ago.

Thanks SO MUCH for your help, everyone!

I'm planning on arriving more at around 8:20 . . . I guess the Monorail would take off around 8:30. This is a non-early entry day, so I really hope the crowds aren't TOO bad!

Thanks again!

They are not talking about the resort early entry. They are talking about on a normal day, how early you can get into the parks before the official opening
