Question about the Disney World Monorail System

I know for a fact that you could, as I did so several times in 2004, as well as in 2002, 2001, 2000, 1999, 1998, 1997, 1996 and 1994.

Sorry, as others have pointed out you may have been remembering incorrectly. I worked at Epcot in 1996 and 1997 and you definitely had to change then. I also visited in 1994 as well as 1999, 2000 and 2002 as you did and am 100% certain you had to change tracks then since we traveled with a large family (18-22 people) and stayed at different resorts and the TTC where you switched monorails was often a meeting place for us.

Here's a video from 1984 with people catching the monorail to Epcot from the TTC.

And here's a 1998 Guide map where you can see the 2 different tracks as well as the TTC (pink number 4 centre top of page) also...the good old days when it was called EPCOT Center.

Memories are a funny thing though, eh? :)

:shrug:How do I get the monorail to Sea World? I did it once in 2000 as part of the Millennium expansion and every time I have been since it has been non operational.

The message is loud and clear, you can not, have never been able too, travel from Epcot directly to Mk on the Monorail. I have been to WDW at least 30 times since 1978 and this situation has always existed. :brick:

OMG....people are really replying to this! This has troll written ALL OVER IT.

Who in the world would think this, and then come onto a DISNEY forum, spout off something like this, and then even state that "they know for a fact"? Why not wiki or google or search on here before joining a forum ONLY to ask this question?

The sheer number of responses amuses me even more than the question.

I assumed it was a troll as well but posted in case it wasn't. I figure there's a 50% chance it's a troll, a 40% chance it's just a complete moron because there are plenty of those as well and a 10% chance it's a regular user who got bored and decided to have some fun.

My family and I have been going since the early '70's, and very clearly remember having to change trains back in the early '80's when EPCOT Center opened to go between the two...

STOP GANGING UP ON THE OPENING POSTER YOU PIXIE DUST SNORTING DISNEY APOLOGISTS

I know for a fact that you could take a direct monorail between the Boardwalk and the MK until 2006, when Meg Crofton changed it to save costs. :fork:

I thought the exact same thing! Absurd statement combined with argumentative attitude (not to mention only 3 posts as of this writing) = troll!

Yup....still 3. Either embarrassed for having brought it up, or study hall was over and had to get back to class.

Sorry, I have to agree with the original poster. There are countless people who spend the entire day at food and wine, who have no recollection of changing monorails before arriving at the Grand Floridian or Contemporary.

Emphasis on the "wine"
