Question About Strollers at WDW

We are trying to decide whether or not we need to bring our own stroller for our 23 month old.

We would like for him to take a nap in the afternoon in his stroller which is very common for him but I can't remember what the strollers are like. I am hoping I can just put a blanket down and let him sleep on the ones we rent instead of lugging around our personal stroller.

Are there any opinions out there?

Thanks!

Stroller would work fine for an afternoon nap...Definitely bring a soft blanket to lay on the bottom of the stroller as they are made of hard plastic....otherwise you should be good to go

My son will be 3 and we still prefer our own stroller. First of all, the rentals are crazy expensive! Also, there is very little room for packages/diaperbags/etc. There are also no cupholders. I like to feed my son snacks and drinks in the stroller and it was nice that he had a cupholder and his snack tray. Also, unless u rent a double, the singles are very small and there is a "dip" in the middle of it. It would make for a very uncomfortable nap.
My Mom and I went for a quick trip by ourselves in August and decided that being it was only us and DS, we didn't want to struggle to bring the stroller on busses and such, so we rented one. I did NOT like it at all. We brought my stroller the next day and it was much nicer.

Thanks for the responses! Great point about the storage. The little pockets, and basket on our stroller would come in handy.

Also, I'm surprised this hasn't been reported on here yet, but they just got a new fleet of rental strollers at the MK that will be rolling out everywhere that are smaller also. So they aren't as big and comfy as the old ones. Even the doubles are really small now. I would stick with your own stroller. Or an Umbrella stroller.

Sorry to jump in late, but...

If you're staying at a monorail hotel, definitely bring your own stroller. If you'll be using the bus system and have your own stroller, remember this:

Maclaren strollers, while expensive, are the only way to go. They are sturdy, light, and fold up into a small and/or narrow size, perfect for buses. We have a single and a double, and they are the absolute best strollers to use at WDW.
