I have a Disney Visa and have never heard anything about free stroller rentals. However, I also have a 5 year old and she has "tested" the Disney stroller and decided that from now on we will take our own stroller. The Disney strollers are not very comfortable, they don't hold a lot of "baggage" and they don't recline.

We always take our own big stroller (Graco) which has a canopy, a fully reclining seat, cupholders and a big basket under the seat to keep water bottles, camera bags and etc. It is SO much better for us than the time we rented a stroller.

We almost sold the stroller at a yard sale two years ago but nobody would buy it (for $5!) since it was missing the front tray.
Since then we've taken it to WDW six times and will keep it as long as I can get away with it. Having a stroller is nice for lots of reasons besides giving your little ones a place to sit down!

it might be cheaper for me to buy one or borrow one because my friend told me they are 15 bucks a day for a single i would be spending 150 bucks.and i dont' have our stroller anymore.

I do think buying one would be cheaper. Or maybe there is someone you can borrow from? Heck, I live in NC too...

I recommend getting the stroller, even if you think your kids WON'T get tired....they will. Kids always want to sit down and rest, specially after a long day at the parks. I personnally prefer renting because I don't like lugging the stroller through the airport and I don't like lugging it on WDW buses and I don't like having to worry about it while I am at the park (not that there is anything to worry about, I am sure stealing strollers is not first on people's list) I just prefer to get it at the park, use it, and then get rid of it. That way I am not lugging it all over the place. But Nicole was right when she said they have very little space for storage, they are slightly uncomfortable (we brought a blanket) and they do not recline. Plus they are an additonal cost.
Whatever you decide, have fun!!!!

If I remember correctly if you are a resort guest you can buy a "length of stay" type ticket for strollers and it is cheaper.

I missed this the first time - I don't think they are $15 for a single, that's the rate for a double. At least that's about what I paid for a double in March 05. I think a single is more like $8.

I just found the link on All Ears to the stroller FAQs:

http://allearsnet.com/pl/strol_faq.htm

Rates since July are $10 single or $18 double.

The either recently got rid of or it is coming up, the rental of "length of stay" strollers because they could not guarantee availablity. We have two young ones - 2 and 5. I bought a double stroller that a was supposed to hold 55 pound per each side. This last trip did it in and they were no where close to 55 a piece. I still maintain that taking a stroller is better. I can't count how many times my girls have fallen asleep while we were heading for the exit. We don't have to lug them on our shoulders and hold them at bus stops for long periods of time. Next year I will probably just buy two cheap umbrella strollers or just take our one seater we had when we only had one child. Our 5 year old still rode in it a lot this last trip. It is also nice not to have to carry the baby bag or purchases when you can just put them under the stroller. I highly recommend taking your own. At airports they generally let you gate check them and it makes it easier to lug the children and carry ons around the airport.

When my kids were that small we often used a stroller, but not every day. Heck we even had the older kids in one of the doubles because they were exhausted. Keep your receipt because its good for all day, which ever park you visit, which is good if you like to park hop. Many people get a cheap[ stroller for the parks and then leave them behind, but we just rented them as we needed.

Why not give you the food at a discount, or free pal mickeys or......? The fact is you pay for the resort you pay for the food, and you will pay for the strollers. Not trying to be rude, just stating the facts. Disney is it to make money. As any business is.

You're new to WDW right?

The price you pay is for the entire day...from the opening of the first park to the closing of the last, its really not that much when you look at it that way. Maybe you could get a second hand one cheaper? Remember that it needs to be easy to fold up and take on the different types of transportation.

yes i understand that. but the prices for strollers are outrageous. i understand its disney and we are going to pay more for food , and our stay there but strollers . and by the way that is rude. thanks anyway

When we stayed at Pop Century in September we brought our own stroller from Vancouver BC - Seattle - Dallas - Orlando. Yes it was nice to have the stoller that we where used to, but we found that we could have bought one for $40.00 in the store at the resort and not lugged a stroller through four airports going to Disney and then going back home.
I say leave the stroller at home and buy one at your resort, or if you have a car you can drive to Wal Mart and get one from them.

Well like I said, not trying to be rude. I just don't understand your logic.. Your ok w/ paying more for food and lodging but for some reason draw the line at strollers?

Maybe the reason for the high prices for stroller rentals is to encourage guests to bring their own? Every single time I have been in a Disney park at closing I am astounded by the number of strollers that are simply abandoned around the park. I am sure it takes a lot of manpower to gather them all up, clean them off then store them for the next day, as it does to run the stroller rental stations. If it was $3 a day then there would be less incentive for people to bring their own strollers, which would require MORE CMs to deal with the abandoned strollers and prep work.

Just a thought. I believe many of the resort gift shops sell strollers, you could probably buy one there for cheaper than renting one.

buying one there does sound much more feesible . I didn't realize they even sold them since i have never been plus a ten days stay would be worth the $40.00 rather then the $160.00
