This question is for anyone that has been on soarin' .. I just saw a picture of the loading area and the seats on allears.net. My question is this, my husband is a big guy, tall with a beer belly. It looks like you have to be strapped in, my concern is that he will not fit and we will both be embarrassed. plus I dont wanna ride without him!

Do you guys think that he will have a problem, or should we not evern attempt it?

fyi- he hardly fit in dueling dragons at universal ioa.. he needed a staff member to press on the mechanism so he could connect the belt at the bottom.. So embarassing for him :( I dont want to go thru that again, I felt so bad..

Its a seat belt that goes across the seat. The kind you see on most Disney attractions, like Dinosaur, Test Track....etc....I don't know if you'll run into some trouble with it though. I hope you don't that way you two can enjoy it.

Good luck!

Yes the seat belts are similar to what you see on TT and ToT.

But I do understand your concern, however, I don't think there is any way for us to know without seeing him.

BUT! My advise would be to ask the CM's for the attraction. They would know better then I belive anyone else, however....there is a chance they might not be 100% sure as well. But it never hurts.

Sorry for sending mixed messages, but I have had guest ask me this very question and sometimes I didn't even know. We are all unique :)

I need someone to push down the restraint on Dueling Dragons all the time.

Don't worry he won't have any problems as it's only a seatbelt with enough room for even me

What's to be embarressed about? It took me alot of pizza and ice cream to develop this girth.

Just an FYI...Dueling Dragons has "big boy" seats in the third and sixth rows of each train. They're the seats with the two buckles. On DD, you can pick the row you want to sit in. Just remember...rows three and six. He should try those the next time.

I'm 6'2", 375lbs, with a 52 inch waist. I fit just fine. The belt would easily accomodate someone with a 65" waist. I rode everything disney had to offer and did not have trouble fitting in anything.

Thank you so much for your info.. Thats a great help to me..

I haven't yet been on the ride at Epcot, however I have been on the ride at California Adventure more than a dozen times since it opened. I am six foot four inches tall and just over three houndred pounds and I had no trouble at all getting on the ride on either side or any of the three gliders on each side. Enjoy the ride it is great:sohappy:
