question about rides with a child with cerebral palsy

Hi. I'm taking my godson to Magic Kingdom. He has cerebral palsy and does not have good head and trunk control. I'm pretty sure he meets the height requirements for splash and Big Thunder but will he be allowed to ride. If he is sitting between my husband and myself he will be fine. So I guess this is a question for thoses of you who have been to Magic Kingdom with disabled children and for CMs as well. How is this handled. We just want to be prepared.

Thanks
Sophie

I'm not sure it is a good idea for him to ride. The warnings they give about health restrictions and no neck or back problems are given for a reason.
If you really feel that he is able, sit in the very front to minimize whipping.

I would say to have a doctors note handy that outlines capabilities and/or restrictions. I do not know what you might run into with CM's nor have I ever travelled with a disabled child but I think that would remove any doubt and make everyone more at-ease if there were any questions or gray areas. Just a thought.

:wave:Hi
They may allow him to ride, but I don't think it's a wise choice he can get hurt. Splash Mountain with the 3 drops and BTM has quick turns and drops I don't think it would be a good idea. There are alot of other rides that I am sure he would love like Dumbo, Aladdin, Pirates of the Carb should be fine with the one little drop (it's dark though at that point) Jungle Cruise would be a woderful one for him to enjoy for sure.
Hope this helps a bit, enjoy your time there and be safe ok. :animwink:
