Question about Pack n Play in rooms

This will be the first time we will have a baby with us and we will be staying at POP this time. I understand that the rooms come with a Pack n Play type thing to use as a crib. Do we need to bring sheets for it, or does Disney provide that?

Disney provides a Mickey Mouse sheet. When we used the PNP and the all Star I had brought my own sheet, sort of glad I did, the one they supplied was a little course from so many washes. I put theirs down first and then my own.

You will not find the Pack n play standard in a room... just make sure your reservation has it marked and you mention it at check-in. Even though we did this, we still did not recieve our pack n play till after 9pm on arrival night. The person who answered the phone was really nice... but after being there since 1pm with several phone calls.. it wasn't a great first impression for Pop! But yes, they will provide you with a sheet.

I read a great tip on these boards though that I will definately be doing next time. Have your little one actually sleep on the sheet a night or two before you arrive. I think this is such a great comfort tool!

Edited to add:
ErickainPA congrats on the twin girls!

Thank you for the responses.

The pack n play has already been reserved, but that will be the first thing I look for when we check into our room.

After we check in we always call housekeeping and have them bring us a couple of extra pack n play sheets to have on hand, just in case we need to change the sheet during the night if a diaper leaks, etc....

Great advice so far.

They do have sheets, but I would still bring a sheet from home (and whatever baby sleeps with in the crib - if it is practical). baby will sleep better if it feels an smells like home.

Have fun!

I brought my own sheet. When DS was a baby his skin was very sensitive. I had 2 sheets for my pack-n-play at home so just threw one in my suitcase to make sure his skin would be protected. I also brought a small blanket from home so if the room was a little cool for him he had something from home to cover him.

Those pack n plays are disgusting. I saw one sitting outside a room when people were checking out and could not believe how bad it was. I would bring 3 layers of sheets to sleep on and more sheets to line the sides. They may have gotten better, this was at POP about 2 years ago.

Only hotel I was at that ever gave an actually crib size baby blanket and actual crib sheet that zipped onto the mattress to prevent it from pulling up was at a Super 8 in CA. They even included a little baby pillow in the crib, which wasn't a PNP but a portable crib.

We always take our own PNP sheet and a receiving blanket along with long pants and his onesie for sleeping in, even socks just in case the AC is so cold. We also use the bath towel to blanket one side should it be bright closer to the side the baby is sleeping on.

disneydudette - Thanks for the congrats n the twins.

Good point. That's one thing I forgot. We have to wash her clothes in scent and dye free detergent. She tends to get rashes at times. It probably would not be a bad idea to wipe the pack n play down before we let her into it either.

I always brought my own sheets for the pack and play when my kids were babies. I thought that they would sleep better in a strange place if the sheets and blankets they used at bedtime were familiar items plus, they smelled like home (aka Downey fabric softner).
I always brought some kind of antibacterial or disenfectant wipes to clean the pack and play with before I put my baby in it. You never know what germs someone had or if they had an explosive diaper in that pack n' play.

Our last trip was our first time using the pack and play. The year before at the Boardwalk they actually had a real roll away crib that worked nicely. This time at the Beach Club we had to use the pack and play- which was very hard to find in the room by the way. They didn't provide us with sheets, I suppose I could have called to ask, but I just used one of the extra blankets under my daughter and then pulled it up over her to keep her warm. She was almost three at this time and was used to sleeping in a regular bed, but because of the number of people we had in the room, we needed to use the pack and play with her. I wouldn't have used it this way if she had been a baby.

Just letting you know that you may have to call for sheets if you decide to not bring your own. If I had a young one, I would just bring a bunch of my own that are nice and clean! :)
