Question about not buying park tickets with hotel reservation

Hi guys,

So this is my first time setting up a Disney trip myself (the two times before I was going with my family and we did it through a travel agent). I'm going with my girlfriend (it's her first time ever at WDW) and taking care of everything without using a travel agent.

I've done the booking for the hotel (Pop Century) online, but I declined on buying the tickets when I made the reservation because I can get park hoppers for cheaper at work. My question is, can I somehow sync up my tickets with my "My Disney Experience"? I've looked on the page, but the only option seems to be to buy the tickets through the Disney site. Would this just be something I could call about and get put on my account?

Also, I made my reservation to the hotel as well as the Be Our Guest restaurant with a credit card that will soon be replaced with a new card that has a new number. I know the hotel will be easy to work out, but will the restaurant be cancelled since they need a credit card to charge the late fee?

Cant answer your question but wanted to ask if you booked through disney website online? If you did i would suggestcalling disney reservations to see if you can get a better deal and looking into discounts that disney is offering currently on room only reservations. Not saying you didnt do this but since it is your first time planning wanted to ask. check out mousesavers.com if you havnt yet done so. Disney online booking tends to not offer the best deals.

I don't think you can sync up your tickets. We buy our tickets from Undercover Tourist - no biggie. I don't know about the expiring card, but a call to Disney should remedy that if you want to wait and give them the new expiration date when you get it.

What it is you actually want to sync? You won't see your tickets on the MDE pages or app. But if you have a resort res you'll still be able to make your ADRs +10 and you can still schedule an itinerary on MDE (which for now is just sort of a fun thing to do but doesn't actually reserve anything). There is no Fastpass Plus yet so it's unknown how that will be impacted by your tickets.

You can not sync tickets to My Disney Experience. When you get to your resort you can then add them onto your room key if that's what you want to do. As far as the credit card, when you get the new card just call Disney dinning and update the card.

Disney dining can't update the credit card, but you'll be fine, it won't cancel the reservation. If you cancel it the same day, they just won't be able to charge you the cancellation fee... ;)

Regarding your tickets, the only reason you'd want to get them through Disney is if you want to add on a dining plan. Other than that, I'd get them wherever is cheapest. You can't "sync" them onto the Disney website, but there's really no need to do that.

The reason I was worried is because of the upcoming MyMagic+ wristbands, I wasn't sure if you needed to get your tickets on your MDE somehow.

Since I won't be going until September, I figured that they would be having the bands out by then for full use and wanted to make sure I was prepared.
