Question about MNSSHP

For those of you who have gone several times, do you recall about when Disney releases the dates for this party? I called and the CM was not able to tell me. Just hoping it is before my 180 days mark gets here on April 7th. I would hate to make all my dining reservations based on a guess of when the party will be only to have to change everything when the actual dates are published.
Thanks in advance.

No, the dates aren't published yet. But you can work out the dates with some info at your fingers tips.

Here are the dates from 2013: http://www.wdwmagic.com/events/mickeys-not-so-scary-halloween-party.htm

The first party was September 10, 2013, which was a Tuesday. So you can probably subtract a day for 2014 and guess that the first party is Tuesday, September 9, 2014. Of course, there will be a party on October 31 every year, obviously.

Finally, I would say check the WDW website to see if MK closes at 7pm. If it does, that means there is a party that night. Unfortunately, as of today, you can only look ahead to August 24.

Thanks, John. I found a site that gives a best guess at what dates the party will be so based on your info and theirs I have a pretty good idea. I just wish I knew WHEN Disney will be releasing the dates. I really like working with something concrete.

Understood. I was planning a 9/29-10/5 2013 trip in March-April of last year. I can't recall specifically but seem to remember knowing dates sometime in April.

Very interesting. WDWMagic just released the September 2014 calendar: http://www.wdwmagic.com/calendar.htm (click drop down for September 2014).

What's interesting are these dates where MK closes at 7: 9/1, 5-6, 9, 12, 14, 16, 19, 21, 23, 26, 28.

Sure enough: There is 9/9. But 1, 5, and 6 also close at 7. Hmm. Wonder if the party is moving up a week?

So if they have released Sept maybe they will have October released by April 7th when I can make my ADR's. Hopefully. In the meantime I will give it my best guess based on the info you have given me. Thanks for all your help!

You could just make multiple reservations for some of your dinner plans with the expectation that you will have to cancel some of them... Not sure when you trip is going to be, but if it is for September time frame than you can probably safely assume that Tuesdays and Fridays will be party nights, in the past those nights were pretty much a given... they might throw in another random day but it is unlikely... October is much less predictable and you can have some other nights popping up depending on how they schedule it that year. I think in the past there were years when they had more night and others when they had less so you can't always judge the number of nights based on the past.

I assume you are going to the party and if so my only word of warning is that Florida can be very humid and warm that time of the year so don't go for a costume that will cook you... we made that mistake one year and nearly died.

Yes, thanks for the reminder. We are going Oct 4-11, so it will still be pretty warm. Right now my costume consists of a pair of shorts, a green tank top and a Mike Wazowski hat. My husbands'...a blue'ish tee with purple spots, shorts and a Sulley hat. They were our costumes for our church's truck or treat this past October, so we decided to just use them again. Easy Peasy and not hot. Our son however wants to go to the Pirates league, get made up and purchase a costume from there. That will probably be a bit warmer.
I want to get dinner reservations for 1900 Park Fare one night but don't want it to be on the same night as the party. Although, our costumes would probably make for some fun character interaction with the step sisters.

If you only want to make one reservation... You could probably go with Oct 8th as a safe bet for them not having a party. As I recall they don't have them on Wednesday... but be warned there is always a first time for everything.

Okay, so based on this the comparable days in 2013 were October 5-12. The MNSSHP dates were Sunday 10/5, Thursday 10/10 and Friday 10/11.

So, to extrapolate to 2014, your MNSSHP dates would be Sun. 10/5, Thurs. 10/9, and Fri. 10/10.

Oh no....that's not the only reservation that I plan to make, but it's the one that I think would be affected the most depending on what dates they offer the party.

Good to know. The way I have my schedule planned right now I am hoping for the party on the 10th. If I had to change my plans to include it on the 5th I could, but I really don't want to do it on the 9th. Thanks for your help

With this extra parties happening in September, I wonder if they'll add other dates in October as well.

Do you think the last party will happen in November 1st or 2nd?
