Question about Mears

Normally I just have a friend pick me up from the airport, but as I will have four travel companions with me this time, I am not going to ask a friend to escort four strangers around with me this time around, and it's been about ten years since I used Mears, so my memory is hazy.

I remember when we used Mears last time, we checked in at the counter once we had claimed our luggage, and then we had to wait about an hour for our shuttle to pick us up and take us to our resort. Is this still the case? Is the wait still that long?

On my last few trips, Mears has provided lousy service. It usually takes awhile to get to WDW from the airport via Mears, but what bothered me most was the pick-up for the return trip. They were supposed to pick us up at 5:30am. They sent a van that was too small to hold the number of people waiting. My family was not able to board and the driver seemed unconcerned.

Instead of calling ahead to re-route a larger bus...the driver said we could catch the next ride...

which took over a half hour.

this caused a lot of stress and I almost missed my flight.

I would have to say no way to Mears also. My family used to take Mears and it provided mixed results at best. Last time we went to WDW we used a luxury sedan/town car and the service was fast and painless givign us a great start and end to our trip. If you are going to the expense of a WDW trip DON'T take the cheap route for your tranportation to and from the airport. Your trip will be off to an excellent start with a town car. We will be taking a town car in October even though it is just me and my wife on our honeymoon.

We've used Mears 5 times in the last 3 years and have never had more than a 15 minute wait to get a ride.


We did however have a driver get lost on the way to the airport, and he forgot to pick up a bunch of people. That was scary.
