At that Lego World store do they have lego sets you can buy that build an attraction or something related to the resorts? My girlfriend and I were thinking of getting one next week when we go and working on it at night in the hotel room as we get tired.....

No
No WDW-specific kits at the Lego Store.

My son thinks they get kits before they are released in Canada, I think he's just rationalizing spending more of my money!

He might actually be right Monty. I'm a pretty big Lego fan, even as an adult, and I have noticed that once they are available on the website they are available at the Lego Store at DD.

At other retailers there can be sometimes a 3-4 week lag in stocking.

In reverse, if something has dropped off the website, it may still be available at the Lego Store.

That would be awesome, but can you imagine how large and expensive they could be? My 9 year-old son is a LEGO JUNKIE!!! He LOVES LEGOS and would probably jump at the chance to build the Haunted Mansion (outside only) if he could, but it would probably be quite expensive (we've found that most pieces average about $0.10-$0.15 each) because of the detail that would be involved. I guess it wouldn't be too difficult to create smaller sets with some of the Disney characters. Maybe you could write a letter to the Lego company or Disney themselves to create special sets to sell at their locations?

I am picturing a large replica of Cindy's Castle in the middle of my living room, made out of LEGOS...

Lego does not shy away from large kits. They have a 5195 piece (largest lego kit to date) Millennium Falcon kit that sells for $500. As well a 3417 piece death star and a 3273 piece Star Destroyer that are $300 a piece. I could see them doing huge Disney park kits if they thought they could sell them.

On our visit in Sept. 2008, there were castle building sets, but I don't think they were replicas of any Disney castles.
There were alot of Star Wars building sets though.
