question about getting around

Just wondering if anyone can tell me when taking advantage of Extra Magic Hours can you take a bus directly from one park to another or do you have to first go back to the resort and then take the bus to the next park you want to go to.

As others have said, buses run between all the parks. Though all inter-park connections to/from the Magic Kingdom are via the TTC. (Where you'd get a monorail to Epcot or a bus to the other parks)

They'll run a bus route between each pair of parks until about 60 minutes after the earlier park closure. (And they do factor in EMH hours when calculating those route times)

So for example, you drive and park at Animal Kingdom, leave there when it closes at 7PM and take the bus to Epcot. Don't expect to be able to get back to your car when Epcot closes at 9PM, because they would have stopped the Epcot-AK route around 8... But, if AK had EMH from 7PM-10PM that evening, you'd have no problem getting back to AK at 9PM.
