Question about DIsney overload for babies.

We are doing our nurdery in Disney. ALL DIsney. But I got to wondering, could this have an opposite affect and actually make the baby dislike Disney as she gets older. Thinking in her mind Disney equals baby stuff. We're hoping Disney doesn't become to her "my crazy parent's thing." How is everyone else's kids with Disney. Do they reject it or embrace it?

All three of mine love it we have been making 6-10 trips to WDW per year for 8 years. For us it is the one place where everyone is on the same level. For the time we are in WDW we are all kids. No one is worried about work or school and we are there to have fun.

My daughter loves it and is refered to as "disney" in her class. She's in 5th grade so she could change, but I really don't think she's going to. I think she'll be a theme park junkie like me and my mom!

Maybe it will have a subtle subconsciouse effect. I decorated my baby's room in Baby Mickey. For awhile, we even called my son Mickey, but switched to Mike as he got older. Obviously, we got rid of all the Disney baby stuff over time, but now, he loves going to WDW and he got his own AP for Disneyland. He's 23.

This is the affect I am hoping for!

We did my daughter's nursery as Pooh Bear and Friends. I think it was actually called "Peek a Pooh".....today, at 4, she is madly in love with Pooh and the rest of the Pooh characters.

I am a Disney freak, as well as my mother, and guess what? It has carried on. DD can't wait until our next trip each time. We get home and she is like "When are we going back?" So it did rub off, but in a good way!

I don't have kids yet, but my mom is always telling me, "I bet your kids will hate Disney! You'll want to do their room in it and have them as princesses and pirates for Halloween and go on vacation there all the time, and they won't want too! That would be fair."

She's not over the fact that her only daughter totally rejected the color pink, Barbies, etc, while growing up. Haha. SO I hope my kids someday are like all yours and love Disney!

Well, she is due in a few days now and let me tell you that room is done up Disney style. We didn't want it to just be girl stuff. The closet has stickies of all the fairies, we have an 8x5 Mickey and Pluto rug, a herd of stuffed animals. We put together 4 James Coleman puzzles and framed and hung them, a Tinkerbell clock, Pooh lightswitch, a Mickey lamp.
ANytime now we will be bringing a Disney fan into the world...:)

The hilarious thing is I had an opposite experience growing up. When I was a kid I would spend my days at WDW and have a great time while my father would always tell me "Why do you go to Disney? It's a fantasy world and it's abnormal!" I heard this my entire life, he never understood that maybe some boys don't like sports or shooting guns in Montana, which is what he did as a kid and is what "normal" boys do. When I was in High School my dad actually forced me to find a girl and go to prom because it was again what "normal" kids did, I only gave in because I found out it was going to be at Comtemporary and had some fun at MK before prom started. Today I haven't talked to my father in 3 years and have never been happier, I get to be myself and have some great friends who understand me and like me for me, not because I'm "normal" and I think that's the way everyone should live their lives.

my kids grew up disney kids and my son is now raising his daughter as a disney kid and it's her favorite place to go and her favorite movies, dolls, characters, dress up, halloween costumes, birthday themes etc... you get the point. my daughter, (sigh...my baby whose currently 21 lol), has been preparing me that when she gets married it will be at wdw. so i think kids will like what they like but if you can catch them early and get them interested in the things you like it will stick with at least one of them and if it doesn't then leave them with grandma and go yourself:lookaroun lol.
