Question about Being Overweight & Solo

I am taking my 1st solo vacation next week. I am comfortable on 90% of the rides. However, the remaining 10%, I am kind of worried about. Soarin, Test Track, Tower of Terror all have very tight seatbelts. My boyfriend usually straps me in but he is not going. Do you have any tips on getting seatbelted in without getting embarrassed?

How are the seats on Rockn Rollercoaster?

I find extending the seatbelt as far as it will go and keeping it that way as I sit aiming it for the buckle and then letting it retract to tighten around my waist works. I'm not overweight, but have difficulty with seat belts because of manual dexterity issues... If that doesn't work, quietly ask the CMs who have to check seat belts anyway to latch it together for you.

Have a look at this page at AllEars, it has great info for your needs at WDW.

Specifically for Rockin' Roller Coaster.

RR is an easy roller coaster as it has shoulder braces. Simply pull them down until they lock. I am big up top. It sits a little high on my chest- but it's still safe and secure!

While I'm thinking about it- the cast members throughout WDW are always very discreeet and helpful. They tend to steer one toward more comfy choices. At restaurants- they don't ask- but skip seating you at booths. My DH is very tall- they seat in the spots with more leg room, etc. They are very accomidating- without being obtrusive or making one feel bad.
Kudos to the WDW cast members! :sohappy:

the CM's will definately help you in a discreet and polite way. I just wanted to be sure that if you are not able to properly fasten a seatbelt that you are going to be comfortable enough to ask a CM.

There is absolutely no need to be embarrassed and it is your safety that is the main concern. Don't let the ride start until you feel you have been safely belted in.

I just wouldn't want you or anyone to feel like they didn't want help fastening a seat belt and get injured on a ride...that would be terrible. My grandmother had to get help fastening all seatbelts on her last trip to WDW because she had a stroke and has little movement in her left arm and I know there were times that she may have been embarrassed to ask for help but the CM's were always very gracious so don't worry.

Have a great solo trip.
