question about AKL?

i just booked a mid-july trip to wdw, & we're staying at AKL. this is my first time staying at the animal kingdom lodge, & decided not to get a savannah room. we were thinking of requesting a room if possible, & we were wondering where the best non-savannah room area is?
we want to keep a close distance to the lobby, though.

We've stayed there 4 times(our home resort) . First time a club level 6th floor just above the lobby. Next 3 visits were all savanah views. IMHO best rooms in Disney. It adds so much more to your visit to be able to come back in the evening and relax on your balcony watching animals slowly grazing an meandering about while your enjoying a cocktail. All the rooms in the first 2 "wings " are closest to the lobby. AKL is shaped like a squared off U shape. So either side of the U is pretty close.

I've only stayed in a savanna room, but the jambo house pool area is very lush and beautifully themed, and a room overlooking it would also be very close to the lobby. Have fun, it's an amazing place!
