Question about a get together/reunion/gathering in WDW?

I am not sure I am in the right place to post this but here goes. My Playgroup is planning to have a huge get together in WDW. I was wondering if there is somewhere in WDW(not just the parks) to hold a get together on one of the nights? Just somewhere we could possibly rent for a few hours to socialize or have dinner would be nice too. Would the wedding pavillion be able to have something like this? There would probably be about 15 families and we are aiming for the slow season and possibly during the week. Of course we know it will cost us IF it can be done, but we want to know so we can plan on something different(Possibly a PS at a restaurant or inside a resort hotel) Thanks!

It would probably be easier to do it in a hotel meeting room. Coronado Springs has many! 15 families is quite a crowd... so I would say that a nice dinner or hour d´evres (sp?) at a hotel´s meeting room would be a better choice. The Poly also has some little ones perfect for that. :animwink:

When I was in Disney in February I saw a corporate gathering that was done in some of the garden areas right at the beginning of World Showcase. Kinda like a cocktail party with a pretty amazing view!! What i would do is contact Disney and ask them to put you in touch with thier convention planners (Yes they have those) and see what ideas they can come up with!! Good luck Belle

Yeah... the idea of using the French Island in Epcot sounds good, but could be a little bit expensive. If your family is willing to spend, go for it!! :)

French Island? This was right as you walked into World Showcase coming from Future World. Kinda on either side of that store that is right there. France is all the way around the other way inbetween UK And Morocco(?) unless I am not calling the area by the right name? This area was right by where the Friendships dock for both paths. Does that help any?? I think I have managed to confuse myself!! LOL LOL Belle

Ooops I´m sorry, I´m the one who immediately associated what you said with a gathering at the FRench Island where I have seen and attended special events. I have not seen any private parties at the "World Showcase Plaza" before. I was the confused one!! Sorry about that! :animwink:

Not a problem, just thought I was turned around for a bit there. I didnt even know there was a French Island. I have been on the little land piece by Italy, but never by France.

If you're interested in holding a convention in Epcot give Epcot Events a call. They can do help you prepare a night in the park...

Give em a ring at (407)828-3200.

All these options can be peice mealed together...
Places to hold dinner include: American Adventure Rotunda, in the China Pavilion, Norway, Universe of Energy, Wonders, and any of the Restaruants located in Epcot.

If you're interested in a dessert party with an Illuminations viewing, you can book any of the following locations: Italy's Isola, French Island(3 sections), and a couple other places.

Just give them a call and they can help you create a magical evening in Epcot. I've seen plenty of thier dinners and the food they offer is pretty darn good. Thier desserts are just as good!

Hey Homer, We certainly are neighbors!! I am a bit closer to the Goethals Bridge now, but I used to live about 10 minutes into Staten Island from the Outerbridge Crossing!!! I married a guy from the Fords/Woodbridge area, but we have since divorced. So I know NJ pretty well. Disney get togethers!!!!hhhhmmmm Do you think that would help my cravings fr Disney?? Actually it is so nice to have this board, plus I have a couple of friends who are just as nutty as me when it comes to Disney.

I don't know about "nutty", but I like Disney. Wannabe you are the only friend I know who could live there full-time.

I hope your daughter has a great birthday and I'll make sure I have an extra dessert for her :slurp: . My son's birthday is 9/26 but we will celebrate it again at Disney (you know - buying more toys).

Hope you have a great time when you go.
