Introduction
img_0148.jpg

While following the prompt's instructions to keep the exterior the same, Team Dream will be installing a new attraction in Discoveryland themed around the Steampunk flair of the land entitled....

Harding's Quest

Backstory
Main Character - Randolph W. Harding
a97f159cee75a55d409711fb81fc169a.jpg

Randolph W. Harding was a pioneer in aeronautical technology in the late 1800s, 1899 to be exact. When he grew up, he was fascinated with the work of Leonardo Da Vinci and his vision using novice designs for gliders and aircraft. His fascination led him to explore for his works and he stumbled upon a secret island that Da Vinci had envisioned, a reason why he was trying to invent such aircraft to travel there, as it was far away from Europe.

Harding's quest to discover this island and explore, led him to join an exclusive club known as the Society of Explorers and Adventurers, who gave him the knowledge and strength to continue his dream.

Renovation
453A0482.jpg

The interior of the Videopolis and the adjacent quick service restaurant have been dismantled and gutted, to make room for a dark ride experience similar to Peter Pan's Flight. A dark ride attraction that allows guests to simulate the sensation of flight, and flight with one of Harding's inventions.

Queue
As you walk through the queue, you are walking through Hardings workshop building (which now acts as the exterior) The steampunk design is still in full effect, and as you walk through, you notice that he's love for Da Vinci's steampunk designs, is apparent.

The collections on the walls and on the blueprints include trying to replicate Da Vinci's glider...

eventually leading Harding to a rendition of the Automata flying device - this flying device will act as your ride vehicle on the journey.

Ride Vehicle Setup
CV8sDO6XAAA0yNT.jpg

As mentioned before, similar to Peter Pan's Flight, the Automatas will travel on a track above you and glide around the scenes. The technology implemented in Shanghai, the swaying of the vehicles, will also be seen here for good reason as you will see later on as it is involved in the plot itself. The Automata seats 4 guests, two in each row, comfortably.

Load Area
Screen-Shot-2016-05-25-at-1.00.07-PM-825x545.png

Similar in design to Peter Pan's Flight, but with a Steampunk design.

Scene 1 - Harding's Go-Ahead
As you are going on this journey with Harding, he gives you instructions on how to follow him, as he warns you he doesn't know what will be on this island, but that's what exploring is all about.

Scene 2 - The Lift Off
You take off of the ground in the Automata and set sail over Paris. You see the city of Paris below you and take off on your journey. An amazing starfield effect can be seen in this scene, along with some powerful music by Michael Giacchino, placing you in the mood, similar to how Danny Elfman's score of Mystic Manor does the same.

Scene 3 - The Ocean
As you soar past Paris and into the Indian Ocean, you see the water glistening below you as you sail overhead. The calmness is only the beginning as the music quiets down from the orchestra of lift off and Paris, to a mellow piano note.

Scene 4 - Something in the Distance
You get closer and Harding, in an AA Automata next to you tells you to sail in, as we are at the island.

As you go in, the large show room that was once Videopolis, opens up into an amazingly large showroom for the Steampunk Island.
8693faa7381ca7c52ef0270e4d4221ed.jpg

C7qxF.jpg

steampunk-world.jpg

You are surrounded by steampunk style blimps, boats, rocks, castles, and designs, showing that the island does exist.

Scene 5 - The Get-Away
After the euphoria is gone, you hear gun fire from the left, as you duck under an incoming plane shooting at you. Harding remarks that we should get out of here, as maybe this is a secret we shouldn't know about, as the planes circle around, you make your escape.

Scene 6 - The Escape

You dodge and sway around incoming ships that are firing at you as a massive blimp arises from the ground and attempts to fire at you as well. You dive down to the ground level and back out of the large showroom.

Scene 7 - The Recovery
Gliding out of trouble, Harding says he has to report to S.E.A. about this discovery and informs you that you can return back to his headquarters and thanks you for traveling with him and being an avid explorer.

You then proceed to the unloading dock and disembark.

Giftshop

Harding's Quest merchandise can be found throughout the exist giftshop, including children model aircraft kits, themed clothes and memorabilia, among much more.

Conclusion
Hopefully this new renovation of Videopolis can turn the location into something that expands not only the steampunk vibe of Discoveryland, but also the Society of Explorers and Adventurers. Especially given the Verne influence in Discoveryland, and ongoing fan rumors that Verne in some capacity may be involved in S.E.A. Perhaps this attraction could sway the story and expand the lore even further in the Disney Parks with Randolph W. Harding and his quest for adventure.

Team Magic Presents:
Dr Strange: The Dark Dimension

Disneyland Paris's Space Mountain is one of the more unique mountains located in the only land of its kind, Discoveryland. While it is a great attraction in a great area, in order to constantly move forward into the future and keep the land fresh, a new overhaul is planned for their Space Mountain that will upgrade it immensely with a new coaster that will be much more exciting and relevant to the guests. With this idea of moving forward with exciting, next generation attractions in mind, while not abandoning the Discoveryland essence, coming soon the Disneyland Paris is Dr. Strange: The Dark Dimension!

Facade:
The facade will receive some minor changes in order to set up the attraction and Dr. Strange lore. While the actual mountain will look the same, under its iconic architecture, in front of the entrance into the building will be the large glass symbol as scene in the films and comics.
tumblr_oaotzyhH471tlm6ixo2_r1_1280.jpg

Queue:
The queue will remain largely the same. The only change will be the replace in the video screens. Here, Dr. Strange himself will appear, telling you about your mission. Using the Eye of Agamotto to alter time, you will be traveling to the Dark Dimension to try and stop more chaos from happening! Also, he'll remind you to not let your hands, arms, feet, or legs slip into the dimension as that wouldn't be good.

Ride Experience:
There are going to be two massive changes to the actual ride experience. First, the launch hill tunnel will be completely enclosed. This will be in order to cater to a new projection effect, where you will be going straight through one of the magical portals to go to the dimension:
thumbnail_24689.jpg

Inside the main show building will be the racing through the dark dimension. Using special lighting effects, including new hologram and projection mapping technology (along with new psychical set pieces), it will go from a simple dark ride through space to an incredibly immersive, sensory-overload experience:
mystery-strange-ew-001-164050-164955.jpg

Doctor-Strange-Multiverse-2.jpg

Guests will then depart with a thank you message from Dr. Strange, with an incredible sense of excitement and accomplishment, off back into Discoveryland to continue on many more adventures (or even back on this ride!)

Golden Prompt: Whip It Good!
image.jpeg

Tokyo Disneyland is currently planning a Baymax themed whip ride for Tokyo, but let's imagine that was not happening. Your goal is to design and theme a new whip ride anywhere on property, and find a way to elevate it to a D- Ticket Experience.

Team Magic Prompt: Under the Sea
image.jpeg

Team Magic must design a new attraction for Mermaid Lagoon
Team Wonder Prompt: New-ntoon
image.jpeg

Team Wonder must design a new attraction for Toontown.
Team Dream Prompt: For the First Time in Forever

Team Dream must design an additional ride for the under construction "Scandanavia" port in Tokyo Disney Sea. Assume that the only ride currently under construction there is a trackless version of Frozen Ever After.
Team Fantasy Prompt: Make A Splash!
image.jpeg

Team Fantasy must design a new ride for Critter Country.

All Projects will be due Tuesday November 15, 2016 at 11:59:59 PM EST. Good Luck!

PS: If you need it, ask for an extension, just note that it will cut out time from your biggest projects. There is a reason we will still have two weeks to go with only two rounds.

PPS: I gave you a lot of freedom with these projects, try to show a lot of imagination.

PPPS: The new criteria on this week's rubric will be "Enhancement of standard Whip Ride Experience"

Just to clarify: the whip ride is for Tokyo Disneyland and not DisneySea- is that correct? And the Ariel ride is for DisneySea (Team Magic)- sorry confusing for those of us who have never been....

Overall an interesting concept. It even had the ability to tie Cottonwood Creek and Thunder Mesa's storylines together, although, I wish you had an image of sorts to describe the boat. The boat should look very interesting, and generally blend in. I wish it was formatted a bit better with a few more details, but overall great project. Two bonus points for entertainment intergration.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Escape from Knowhere

7778caaa87bd5e546fd97e0afd254e4f.jpg

Replacing Showbase in Tomorrowland will be a new whip dark ride attraction based around the colorful and popular Guardians of the Galaxy. For this attraction, the Oriental Land Company has developed a trackless whip ride, meaning that there will be several scenes where the whip technology in Mater's Junkyard Jamboree for example, will be utilized. However, after the scene is complete, the 4-6 ride vehicles at a time, will go single file, into the next scene. This rotation and method will then proceed for 4 different scenes, each expanding and following the narrative of escaping from The Collector, Ronan, and Knowhere - the celestial floating head planet.

Showbase is in-between Space Mountain and Star Tours in Tokyo
disney-land-map.jpg

Ride Vehicle
ld9xh1vageehyk7q4p5p.jpg

Similar in design to the pods from the film, a group of 4 guests per pod will swing around, dodging fire and debris, as they try to escape Knowhere.

Queue
jfFoCae.jpg

The queue meanders around the Collector's collection - where you see various artifacts from the Marvel universe. The seedy entrance to the queue offers a foreboding presence. As you continue in, you see an audio-animatronic of Gamora, telling you that the Collector is waiting for us, and that we need to see him quickly.
4543c2b727b4d6c4d2a1fc799968122e.jpg

You continue through the maze of artifacts, and uber Marvel nerds will notice some of the easter eggs in the collection, such as Adam Warlock's tomb, Howard the Duck, and more. The Collector then shows up for a pre-show style aspect, where the Infinity Stones are explained to you.
Benicio-del-Toro-The-Collector-Infinity-Stones.jpg

The 6 Infinity Stones are -
The Space Stone
The Mind Stone
The Reality Stone
The Soul Stone
The Time Stone

and ...the one that the Guardians have
The Power Stone.

The Power Stone as we are told, is powerful enough to destroy entire planets by the user. It is highly dangerous and the Collector suggests he holds onto it. However, soon the Guardians, consisting of Groot, Rocket, Gamora, and Star-Lord, ask where Drax is? Drax didn't come in with them and they hear commotion outside. They fear it could be Ronan approaching so you are whisked outside of the collection with the Guardians.

As you approach the loading dock, they tell you to board the escape pods so we can find Drax and get out of here with the Power Stone before Ronan captures it. You board the pods and enter the first scene.

Whip Section 1 - The Call
guardians-of-the-galaxy-dave-bautista-drax-back.jpg

You're pods enter through a dark tunnel and you hear Drax's voice yelling out to incoming ships.

"You called Ronan?!?" Star Lord yells, and Drax laughs, as the ships begin to fire on you and the pods. The pods sway out of the way and special effects lasers and lighting makes it feel like you are dodging it all. You see Star Lord and Rocket piloting pods as well on the screen to your right, and they destroy the pods above you as you proceed on to the next scene.

"Quickly we gotta get out of here before this crazy nut calls Thanos too" Rocket yells.

"Hey...I am not a nut. A nut is something you eat" Drax informs Rocket - as you continue to the next scene.

Whip Section 2 - Ronan Approaching
aae178196b97bdb1d74c34a358bd66f5.jpg

Ronan's Ship approaches in the distance and Star Lord tells you, that we all have to move fast. Your pods swirl around different buildings and mechanical objects on Knowhere, as the pods and Ronans ship closes in.

"Faster!" Gamora screams

"I am ...Groot", Groot remarks

The giant planet city is scene below you and to the sides now as it seems like you're going to make your escape.
GbVygqP.jpg

Whip Section 3 - Almost Escape
Guardians%2Bof%2Bthe%2BGalaxy.jpg

As soon as you leave the celestial head of Knowhere, you are stoped by Ronan's ship, and giant cruisers come flying after you as you continue to dodge and duck.

"You won't escape me now" Ronan declares.

"You want a dance off, bro...me and you?" Star Lord jokes.

Suddenly the joking stops and Gamora's pod is hit. During the transition to the final scene, Star Lord exits his pod and saves Gamora.

latest

Whip Section 4 - Finale
knowhere-101251.jpg

As soon as Gamora is saved, you see the Guardians get into the Milano, and try to stop Ronan once and for all, but that isn't necessary because the Nova Corps arrives and a giant battle ensues between the two sides. During the battle, you're able to escape with the Milano and the Guardians tell you to watch your back, it's a dangerous universe out there.

You unload back on Knowhere and proceed out of the attraction

Hooked on a Giftshop
guardians-of-the-galaxy-fan-art-star-lord-gamora-drax-the-destroyer-groot-rocket.jpg

Here you can buy goods and merchandise from the Guardians of the Galaxy, including posters, clothes, accessories, and of course, their infamous soundtrack.

Potential Future Updates:
Guardians-Galaxy-Vol-2-New-Logo.jpg

Since there are screens involved in this attraction, similar to Star Tours, the ride itself could be adjusted for each segment of cars - with elements from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 and potential future films, implemented into the attraction, so that each ride can be a different experience and visual aesthetic.

Star Wars: Starfighters

Show Building
As guests walk up, they are greeted by an impressive building known as the Recruitment Center where recruiters (cast members) advertise the need for pilots.
full

Some will dress as Imperial officers and others will be dressed as Rebel officers, but both are more than eager to accept new recruits to train as pilots for the cause.

full
full

Queue

Entering the queue, guests will be treated to the timeline of Star Wars events starting from Episode 1 to the present. This timeline spans the entire hallway and will feature interactive screens that will entertain guests as they wait, like trivia, character biographies, and even “secret” messages. After this hallway, guest will come to a junction where either an Imperial officer or a Rebel officer will direct guests down one or two halls.

Choose Your Side
full

Side One – The Empire

The first hall has a dark and sinister feel, and immediately guests will notice they have entered the Imperial side of the recruitment center. Banners hang overhead displaying the Imperial symbol proudly. Several recruitment posters line the walls encouraging the guests to become pilots for the Empire.
full

Interactive screens will also allow guests to digital cut apart a Tie Fighter to see the inner workings and will also show clips of some of the greatest space battles. An Imperial broadcast will play on repeat with propaganda messages such as: “Be on guard, citizens. Traitors to the Empire could be around every corner.”

At the end of this hall, is a set of double doors with the Imperial symbol painted on the front. As the Imperial March suddenly cuts off the broadcasts, the doors open splitting the symbol in half as the doors retreat. Guests are motioned forward in small groups.

In this small briefing room, a monitor comes to life to show Captain Bullic, a high ranking Imperial officer, ready to give the rookie pilots their first assignment. He will go over the operating controls of each Tie Fighter and will also give the safety spiel. He wishes the group luck before sending out to their ships in the hanger.

Side Two – The Rebellion

The second hallway is brightly lit and more welcoming to guests who enter in. There are no banners flying here, but the walls are covered with their anti-Empire drawings and posters signify that this is the Rebellion side of the recruitment center.
full

The rebels are not without their own propaganda broadcasts which plays in a loop. Several of the recruitment posters indicate that these guests are being recruited to be Rebel pilots.
full

Interactive screens will also allow guests to digital cut apart a X-Wing to see the inner workings and will also show clips of some of the greatest space battles.

At the end of this hall, is a set of double doors with the Rebel symbol painted on the front. As the Star Wars Theme song suddenly cuts off the broadcasts, the doors open splitting the symbol in half as the doors retreat. Guests are motioned forward in small groups.

In this small briefing room, a monitor comes to life to show Captain Threel, the rebel Fleet commander, ready to give the rookie pilots their first assignment. He will go over the operating controls of each X-Wing and will also give the safety spiel. He wishes the group luck before sending out to their ships in the hanger.

Ride Vehicles
full
Each ride vehicle is either a replica of a Tie Fighter or a X-Wing, with each vehicle connected in the back to a sister ship.
full
The front window of each vehicle utilizes Augmented Reality technology, and as the ride is started, the window activates showing that the hanger has become space filled with Star Destroyers and Rebel ships that dip in and out of the screen. Set apart from the control panel, a double handle joystick allows for the guests to aim their “guns” up, down, and side to side to hit the opposing player’s side. Using the buttons on top of the joystick, guests can fire their “guns”.

Example of Tie Fighter vehicle (minus the wings)

Example of Interior view of the X-Wing vehicle
full
The Augmented Reality in combination with the same technology of Toy Story Mania shows the blaster bolts hitting or missing each target with the accompanying sound effects.

The seat also moves independently of the ride’s movement. As the vehicles whip around, the seat slides the guest across the cockpit, making this experience more fun and adding a little challenge to the shooting aspect. (See below)
full

Ride Experience

Guests will enter each vehicle based on what side they were directed to: Empire or Rebel. After buckling themselves in, a Flight Deck Crew member (one for the Empire and one for the Rebellion) will check their side’s safety harnesses before declaring they are ready for launch. The control panels of each vehicle are interactive will levers and buttons that make noise or light up.

The windows activate and the ride begins to move, whipping the vehicles around each other and causing each guest’s seat to slide back and forth. Through the windows each guest can see the other ride vehicles whip around. Their objective is to hit as many of the opposing vehicles as possible. Each hit is met with a small explosion (in augmented reality). The cockpit of each vehicle will light up red when their vehicle is hit.

As an added detail, the control panel will also show the targeting computer graphics specific to each type of ship. Guests can use it to help with targeting or just eyeball it out the window.
full
While guests are shooting, Darth Vader (for the Empire) or Han Solo/Poe Dameron (for the Rebels) will offer encouragement or sarcastic advice.

Darth Vader (guest has missed a target): “The Force is strong with this one.”

Han Solo (guest has hit another vehicle): “That’s great, kid. Don’t get cocky!”

After the ride comes to a stop, the scores are tallied and the hanger will light up either red (for the Empire) or green (for the Rebellion), indicating which side won the battle.

Exit

Guests exit into the Maintenance Bay, the gift store, where souvenirs and other Star Wars merchandise can be bought. Also this is where anyone can get their ID license as a Tie Fighter pilot or a W-Wing pilot.

~Mermaid Lagoon Replacement: Ariel's Aquatic Adventure~

under-the-sea-journey-of-the-little-mermaid-new-00.jpg

Added to Tokyo DisneySea's Mermaid Lagoon is the E-ticket the land always deserved, a much improved dark ride that tells the tale of a young mermaid who dreamed of life on the shore. While the WDW and Dinseyland versions boast impressive animatronic figures but leave many guests feeling underwhelmed, DisneySea's Aquatic Adventure will remedy that by changing both ride vehicle and experience.

Replacing the kiddie rides that plague Mermaid Lagoon, Aquatic Adventure will compliment the Ariel show that exists today and Sebastian's restaurant.

The Ride Vehicle
Instead of boarding a clam mobile, guests will board a small replica of Prince Eric's ship that will magically transport them above and below water for a high seas adventure.

Scene 1: Ariel meets Glut

As your ship sinks below the sea, it begins to race back and forth as you find yourself already being chased by the hungry shark intent on making Ariel his dinner. Ariel and Flounder can be seen in the portholes of the sinking ship while you are chased by an angry AA Glut.

Scene 2: Triton
Narration:
Flounder: "It wasn't our fault! We were being chased by a shark and then this seagull came and was like 'this is this' and 'that is that'...
Triton: Seagull? Ariel! You went up to the surface again didn't you? I forbid you from doing so again....

Scene 3: Part of Your World
Come inside Ariel's Grotto where you see her treasures first hand and Ariel sings how she wants more from her aquatic life

Scene 4: Ariel Meets Eric
Our ship vessel resurfaces at night while fireworks shoot across the sky and we see Ariel watching Eric while Scuttle flies over head. Endor Speeders
maxresdefault.jpg

Coming to Tokyo Disneyland will be a whip ride attraction based on the Endor speeders from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. It will be next to Star Tours in Tomorrowland.

The Endor Speeders will feature Jedi and the Empire, whipping through the forest moon of Endor. The attraction will be elevated to a D-ticket status due to the themes around the ride itself. Unlike Mater's Junkyard Jamboree, there will be heavy detail of the forest around the speeders, including some trees throughout the whipping territory.
Star-Wars-Battlefront.jpg

The whipping vehicles even feel a little bit of tilt on the turns to give it a more realistic speeder feel. Star Wars music will play in the background as well to set the mood.

In the end, the attraction will last around 3 minutes and be a fun family experience for Star Wars and Disney fans alike.

Professor Ludwig Von Drake's Great Flying Machine

full
Combining the great 3D visuals of Mickey's Phillarmagic and the flight mechanics of Soarin' comes this new family attraction situated in the heart of Toontown: Professor Ludwig Von Drake's Great Flying Machine.
1604.photo_.4.jpg
Guests will enter Professor Ludwig Von Drake's laboratory where they will enjoy the many details of the professor's many inventions, successes and failures. The queue meanders through Ludwig's office and science lab. His notes and diagrams litter his desk and office while guests can marvel at the many beakers of bubbling liquid in the lab.
10571808-Cartoon-Chemistry-Set-Stock-Vector-science.jpg
Next, is a quick tour of Ludwig's past inventions in various states of completion before heading into the final hallway where evidence of Ludwig's most recent obsession, a quicker form of flight, decorate the walls. Humorous post it notes and blueprints are pinned to the walls for guests to enjoy.

One of the professor's assistants will line guests up in groups of three (the ride will have three separate ride vehicles operating at the same time). Like Soarin' a video screen will come to life, showing Ludwig Von Drake in his flight lab.

Drake: "Hello, you lucky volunteers! You have arrived on a momentous occasion."
full

Drake: "I have just invented a faster form of flight! Flapping your arms is for the birds."
full
Drake: "With my personalized faster flight model, or what I call Hermes, we will no longer have to rely on bulky planes to get us from one location to another."
full
Drake: " Of course, this model is still untested, but that, my friends, is where you come in. You will test my Hermes group model while I'll monitor the results from my personal Hermes model."

From here, the professor will also go over safety before the guests are let into the "flight lab".
full
Similar to the Soarin' vehicles, there are three Hermes vehicles waiting, but instead of rows of three, it will just be a single row of 12 seats.

The professor's assistants will double check the safety belts and instruct the guests to put on their flight goggles (3D glasses) before letting the professor know that the volunteers are good to go.

A curtain rises a couple of feet off the ground to reveal a screen where Ludwig is in his own Hermes.

Drake: "Ready to go? Let's go!" His Hermes lifts off the ground and takes off down the runway. The curtain rises and the ride vehicles lift off the ground making it seem as if the guests are following Ludwig down the runway before soaring into the air.

Once the guests are hovering in mid air, Professor Ludwig Von Drake suggests we really try this thing out and presses a button on his control panel. Almost immediately the Hermes goes out of control and zooms off. We follow at a more sedate pace, dipping and gliding in Drake's wake. We arrive in Brazil to see Drake's Hermes flying erratically, not that the antics of the Aracuan Bird are helping.
full
He crazy bird presses another button, and Drake shoots off into the clouds. We follow closely behind, heading into the cloud but almost immediately are nearly crashed into by Lauchpad McQuack.
full
We dip below the clouds to find ourselves in Duckburg, but the only hint of Professor Drake is a vapor trail heading towards Scrooge McDuck's vault.
full
We follow behind and manage to catch up to Drake and the Hermes bouncing off the walls of the vault with Scrooge dodging each near miss by diving beneath his mounds of gold.
full
But before Drake can regain control, he zooms out of the vault with us close on his heels. The clouds engulf us once again before we dip below again. We are almost with reaching distance of Drake as he zips through Toontown seeing the Reluctant Dragon, the 3 Little pigs, and other Silly Symphonies characters.
maxresdefault.jpg
But Drake's machine crashes through a tree causing Chip, Dale and the rest of the Rescue Rangers to flee in the Ranger Plane shaking their fists angrily.
full
Drake manages to reach his control panel and push another button. The Hermes shoots up in a wide arch before plummeting down almost to the street. Drake yanks on the controls and we chase after his wildly spinning vehicle as it crashes through Mickey's house wrecking his kitchen remodeling project.
full
After bursting through the back door and scaring Pluto in his doghouse, we follow Drake as he crashes through Minnie's house.
full
Minnie manages to shoo the Hermes out the door before her living room is wrecked, but we only end up crashing through the roof of Donald's boat. We knock the soup Donald was cooking over onto the poor duck.
full
Donald, in a fit of temper throws the pot at Drake's machine, causing it to fly back out of the hole and over to Goofy's house.
full
Drake scrambles in the cockpit and presses the big red home button and the Hermes takes off back to the lab. We fly along and while Drake's machine crashes into a bunch of spare parts once back in the hanger, we land gently (the curtain falling to cover most of the giant screen). Drake stands up, looking dazed.
latest
Drake: "We'll that's not how I thought that would go. But success does not come without a few failures." He collapses into the heap of the destroyed Hermes, and the curtain closes.

The guests can unlatch their safety restraints, deposit their "flight goggles", and exit the flight hanger.

Sailors, is everybody okay? Our ships have crashed atop a mysterious waterfall, overlooking an enormous lagoon. I have just recieved word from Ms. Alberta Falls that we are perched atop Miss Fortune Falls at the legendary Typhoon Lagoon, however, we must find a way down. The rest of this competition, due to the amount of manpower needed, will see the merging of Team Dream and Team Magic (which shall be called Team Magic), as well as the merging of Team Wonder and Team Fantasy (which shall be called team Wonder). Each prompt will be released to the team once the previous prompt has been completed, until our Disneyland finale. The longer you take, the less time you get, and every project will get bigger and bigger. Every project, except for the final project will be worth 15 points, with the only criteria being "Imagination". Your first golden prompt is listed below, good luck. Note: This is the last golden prompt until the finale.

Golden Prompt: I wish you would slide down from that ledge, my friend
Teams must desgin a new waterslide at Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon.

Chili's
Tundra Tumbler

Coming soon to Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park will be a thrilling water coaster type attraction that will sure pack a punch in your water park visit. Adding some life to the back half of Mt Gushmore, adjacent to Runoff Rapids
runoff-rapids-gallery02.jpg

Runoff Rapids as seen from the exit pool.

Runoff Rapids on the map is in the bottom left corner...the Tundra Tumbler attraction is to the right of it (on the map - directly above)
disney-blizzard-beach-map-large1.jpg

Tundra Tumbler will seek to be the "thrill" cousin to the Runoff Rapids attraction - adding a water coaster element to the forefront of Blizzard Beach, something that it doesn't have yet.
30282278084_d49cd4b5a9_b.jpg

From the visual illustration above, you can see the three tiered slopes of Tundra Tumbler, however to ensure that we are following along with the requirements of the prompt - we will only be focusing on one slide for the time being, and the rest of the slides will be suitable for a future expansion of the attraction once it opens up.

Guests will climb up 70 feet to the side of Mount Gushmore, carrying their 2 person or 3 person tubes with them along on the journey.

You can then choose 3 sides:

Sunny Slopes - Slide 1
Breezy Blades - Slide 2 - Future Expansion
Icy Isles - Slide 3 - Future Expansion

Sunny Slopes - Part 1

You dive down a 30 foot drop and then go into a hill climb and turn.

Sunny Slopes - Part 2

As you turn, you careen down a second drop and make a sharp right hand turn, before going over a bunny hop and into another turn, this time to the left.

Sunny Slopes - Part 3

You then go through another bunny hop and make a right hand turn, gliding into the pool for the splashdown.

Breezy Blades - Part 1

30896453362_6d592d91b0_b.jpg

This will begin with a towering 40 foot drop, and a gush of water as you climb a large incline and slow down for the turn.

Breezy Blades - Part 2

The turn is on an incline as well, you maneuver around it, and dive down another hill, glide back up, a left hand turn and down another slope into a 360 degree turn into the splashdown.

Icy Isles - Part 1

This one starts with a mild drop and into a larger drop of 25 feet.

Icy Isles - Part 2

With a few more turns than the others, this slope will go back and forth, left and right, and into a bunny slope before the splashdown.

Conclusion
31003033706_01c156b285_b.jpg

Ultimately, all 3 slides will combine together in the exit pool, like in Runoff Rapids, and will provide a new level of thrill for Disney's Blizzard Beach.
