By the end of the weekend all should be right with the world. The Yanks will be back in first and the "bizzaro world" that we have been living in since last October will be behind us.

GO Yanks!

Hey RobbyK and CaptChris,
When your state gets big enough to have their own Pro Sports teams, I'll consider you both more than bandwagon fans and take you serious! Until then, happy we at least share a liking to Disney...
By the way, see the photos of the old dilapitated monorails that are far past their prime? Must remind you of your beloved Yankmee's eh boys?? :p

Hey how'd the Yankees do in last year's world series?

I mean......... when they went up on the Sox 3-0... well, NO TEAM in the history of baseball has ever blown that lead so I just figured it was over.. :hammer:

I didn't bother to watch the World Series......

How'd the Yanks do against those Cardinals???

The only thing I took true offense to in the last two repies was inferring that I am a bandwagon fan. I have been a Yankee fan since I was seven years old. Back in the days of Reggie, Nettles, Munson and Catfish. I have been a seaon ticket holder since 1993. All the bandwagon fans ( here in CTanyway) have all jumped north to the Red Sox nation. Thats what happens when you win.

The empire still rolls on. We will see what happens by years end. It looks like the last Boston- New York series in September is going to be huge. That is if the Orioles continue to drop off.

Hahaha don't be offended. :) It is pretty funny to hear you say so many have jumped on the Nation bandwagon after having only one Championship in the last 86 years.

I guess when you don't have a local team, you get to select who you like. Not implying that one must be a fan of your local teams. But it is interesting that of all teams for you to start following in the late 70's, it was the Yankees. I suppose coming off a 100-63 record, Championship season in '78 had nothing to do with your choice. But then why not the 66-96 Mets that year? So let the empire roll on but as we all sit back and watch the wheels fall off, keep sporting yor pinstripes...

Sorry for the severe drift. Sox/Yankees fans never know when to shut up...

Yes... i apologize too disney fans... but i just wanna know a few things...

Who won last year's world series??????????????????????

who is in first in the AL East?????

How many All-stars did the yankees have??????

I remember on the AL, 3 out of the first 4 men in the batting order were from one lineup... was it the yankees???

And one last one.... whats your new chant now that your only original idea "1918" is gone? Next time we're at Yankee Stadium you can chant "2004 (clap clap, clapclapclap) 2004 (clap clap clapclapclap)"

 wave bye bye... THERE'S A NEW SHERIFF IN TOWN!

I've always felt that most Yankee fans can be the most difficult folks to deal with. However, now you have a bunch of Sox fans that make us NY fans look like saints. They win once every few decades and because of it have a few All-Stars because of it. Enough!! I agree that the world will be righted after the weekend with everything. Yanks are back on top and more importantly, I'll be at Disney!! Can we now get back to the monorail thread?!!!

Excellent stuff! I was only to Disneyland once back in 1977 and I don't remember the monorail at all. I miss the Mark IV at WDW. I use to love listening to the doors slamming and waititing for our turn....
I don't miss the Mark IV. Those slamming doors closed on my leg when I was a kid. It took forever to get a CM to open them to get my leg out.

yeah seriously... take it easy YA PSYCHO... my god...

I've been watching the Sox since I can remember... I've LIVED THE HEARTBREAKS... I've witnessed the curse... I've dealt with the shame and with the feeling like its just a bad marriage you can't get out of...

Thats why you are CLEARLY a yankees fan... THERE IS NO EXCITEMENT FOR YOU!!! you guys have 26 World Championships... you guys have dominated the game of baseball for years... the mid and late nineties, and at the early turn of the millenium you guys OWNED BASEBALL... and act like its nothing!

WE HAVE WAITED 86 YEARS FOR A MOMENT LIKE THIS!!!!

You just don't get it, AT ALL!!! It's not like i just hopped on the bandwagon... I GREW UP WITH THE RED SOX!!! they were my childhood!!!!

so don't come in here "red sox fans are scum and yada yada yada" cuz we finally pull it off... we finally receive what we've been waiting for for so long... you just dont get it cuz your a yankees fan and baseball is just baseball to you... and nothing to be excited over...

I still to this day randomly get chills looking back on last october... and I watch my Red Sox dvds at least twice a week...

NOW... SORRY NON-SOX OR YANKEE FANS WHO JUST WANT DISNEY!!! I APOLOGIZE, I AM DONE... just a little annoyed!!

maybe you can start to realize WHY this is the most intense rivalry in baseball

and this weekend is gonna be AWESOME... Sox take 3 out of the 4, guarenteed!

GO SOX!!!!

One last note about the Yankees-Red Sox.. I grew a Yankees fan and continue to be this day.. I give credit where credit is due, and the Red Sox deserved last year.. They earned it.. But one thing I can't stand people saying are THE YANKEES BUY THEMSELVES A CHAMPIONSHIP.. Can we just sit back and look at last year's Red Sox lineup?

Damon - not a Red Sox product
Manny Ramirez - not a Red Sox product
Dave Ortiz - Not a Red Sox product
Tim Wakefield - Not a Red Sox product
Curt Schilling - Not a Red Sox product
Bill Mueller - not a Red Sox product
Kevin Millar - not a Red Sox product
Keith Foulke - not a Red Sox product
Jason Varitek - not a Red Sox product
The one Red Sox product they traded (Nomar)

This year?? Dave Wells and Matt Clement and Edgar Renteria none are Red Sox products... But such is the nature of the game.. let's not say only the Yankees buy championships...

As for the monorails.... Thanks for the info on the Mark IV's and the pictures as well...

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA

that cannot by any means at all go overlooked...

ok... Damon... NOT BOUGHT... not like the sox went out there and said "LETS OUTBID EVERY OTHER TEAM BY MILLIONS" so Damon is OFF...
Manny I give you... SOLD
Ortiz.... ORTIZ???? HAHAHAHAHHAHAHA... THE TWINS DIDN'T WANT HIM!!! HE'S MAKING 3.4 MIL A YEAR RIGHT NOW!!! WHO BUYS ALL-STARS FOR 3.4... exactly... NOT BOUGHT... no, not sox product, but NOT BOUGHT
Wakefield... just give me a break here... man has been with the sox for 10 years now... and, also NOT BOUGHT
Schilling... SOLD... I give you schilling
Mueller... give me a break... lifetime .260 hitter when we sign him? no more than 14 homers in any season before we sign him? not bought
Millar... NOW I ALMOST MESSED MYSELF WHEN YOU WROTE THIS ONE... THE MAN WAS HEADED FOR JAPAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BOUGHT... nope... not even close... NO OTHER TEAM WANTED HIM!!!
Foulke... bought... HOWEVER, was not like he was "yankee style bought" and just overly outbid... but i give you bought
Tek... cameover to the sox in a trade with D-Lowe in one of the most lob-sided trades ever... (turned out to be)... he was NO WAY BOUGHT... he was a young player with potential but not much else... so no way bought
Wells... Clement... Renteria... BOUGHT... BOUGHT... BOUGHT

but honestly... look at the guys you bought... look at the way you did it... look at how many more there are...

210 mil cap... to our 145 mil... DO YOU KNOW WHAT 65 MIL A YEAR CAN GET YOU?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

A-rods... RJs... Giambis... Sheffields... Vasquezs... Browns (not my fault he was bought and then SUCKED)... Pavano...

give me a break...

monorails are cool! I love them! :sohappy:

One VERY LAST thing...

Steinbrenner is a genius... and one HECK of an owner... and Joe Torre is an incredible manager, and I have all the respect in the world for those guys...

AND... I never actually did say you bought a championship... i didnt say that, I just had to defend what you said cuz I have statistics as proof!

But i have respect somhow for the Boss, he's made baseball interesting and the rivalry even more intense... and Torre is a good man...

I also got no problem with Jeter (HECK OF A PLAYER), Bernie (good guy), Mussina, and Rivera...

A-rod is a girl though
