There are three of us in our party and we have 8 day part tickets. I was trying to purchase Genie+ before we arrive and the price was more than it should’ve been. it came out to $414.12 before taxes. Based on my calculations it should be $360. Anyone know what’s going on.

Agree that the system may be repricing your tickets. But note, the price for Genie+ is closer to $16 per day/ per person with tax. So your cost to add would be $384 even with your original tickets.

Be careful when playing with Genie+. I've been at the parks the past 3 days, and found out how annoying and impractical "subject to availability" really is

We added Genie+ to our tickets in October and didn't use it much on the days we decided to go to a water park in the morning. Unless you know you're definitely going to be in a certain park all day, it's probably better to buy it on a day-by-day basis. It did help us avoid some very long wait times on the days we did use it, but overall I'm not a fan of the way Genie+ is set up. The ILLs worked better because we had some control over scheduling them, but overall the system is aggravating to use - especially having to wake up early each morning to compete for ride times.

We have NO intentions to purchase Genie+ when we go this July. I think its the most absurd waste of money the way they have it set up. I hate that you can't re-ride something later, only letting you ride once using it. If you plan to park hop later in the day, there might not be anything that you can ride in the first park in the morning. We will have to hope that touring plans works and just enjoy being together in the parks, even if we're waiting in stand-by lines.

We tried Genie+ on our trip in December. It was our first time trying it. We were there 8 days and tried it 2 days. That’s it for us. On our future visits, we’ll “suck it up” and do the standby lines. We will enjoy our Disney trips in another way. It’s Disney 2022 style and not Disney 2000 style.

I second the idea of buying it day by day. I don't it is particularly worthwhile in Epcot. I also don't think I'd buy it for AK. But for MK and HS it is a more worthwhile possibility. If you get it day by day, just be sure to buy it a little before 7am.

Here to pile on. I wouldn't buy it in advance. We used it Thanksgiving week, and it was such a giant waste of money in our experience. To make matters worse, several times our reserved ride was DOWN and there was no way to edit our selection. You could get on the ride at any time during the day afterward, but guess what...so could every person that had a reservation while it was down. I'd rather get to the park early, get on rides ASAP and re-assess.

Good luck.

Just got back and Genie + was a total waste of money. I went on at 7:00 and all the attractions that charge extra were all taken. The charge for Genie + went to only one lightning pass per day. My suggestion is get to each part at rope drop.
Just a reminder you don’t need Genie+ to buy the individual lightning lane passes. The two are totally independent of each other.
