PTR: Many Celebrations in one!

Hi Everyone! This is my first ever thread on the boards! I'm really excited to start writing it, I hope you all enjoy it! Feel free to give me any feedback you want!! So here we go!

The Cast:
Allie- 16- That's me! This whole trip was actually my idea! My 16th birthday was February 8th. My parents gave me the option to have a huge sweet 16 party or I can go anywhere that I would like. So after a lot of contemplation I finally decided that I would like to go to Walt Disney World. I have been there 18 times before and it is one of my favorite places on the earth. It makes me feel so young and I just can't even explain the feeling Disney World gives me. I love Belle and Marie. I am such a little kid when it comes to this stuff! I even have a bunch of Belle dolls throught my room and I am not ashamed!

Disclaimer: This pictures is a few years old! I was about 13 or 14 here.

Alison- 16, well 17 when we get there-This is one of my best friends! My parents are letting me take one of my friends for part of my present. She has only been to Disney a few times, she has never stayed on property before and so pretty much this is her first true time to disney. I call her "The Disney Virgin."

Marc- This is my daddy! He has been to Disney many times. Way too many times to count. Somewhere between 25 and 30. His favorite character is Scrooge McDuck. Our house is full of all Disney pictures and statues. He pretty much started me with my obsession of Disney! My dad and I are a lot alike, we have the same personality and humor.

Kim- This is my mommy! She has been to Disney many times too, same amount of times as my dad. Between 25 and 30. She loves Lady and Tramp. She actually named my dogs after Lady and Tramp, yes I have 2 dogs named Lady and Tramp. Funny thing is Tramp looks more like Lady and Lady looks more like Tramp. My mom and dad actually went on their honeymoon to Disney.

Meaghan- 7- This is my sister! She has been to Disney 5 times. She loves all the princesses and is convinced that she is a princess! She is the sweetest girl you'd ever meet! I dont know what else to say about her!

Ryan- 6- This is my brother. He has been to Disney 3 times. He loves Star Wars, he is super excited to go on the new Star Tours! He has the kindest heart anyone would know! He's awesome!

Aidan- 3, going to be 4 at the time of the trip- This is my other brother! He has only been to Disney World once. Well twice if you count when my mom was pregnant with him lol! So, he loves Cars, I guess we are going to the wrong Disney since cars land just opened! But anyways he's a crazy nut but he's so nice!

Ontop of the 7 of us, both sets of my grandparents are coming, my 21 year old aunt, my mom's sister and her husband (my uncle), and my 2 cousins. In total there wil be 16 of us! A lot of us going.

But I am super excited for this trips. There will be a lot of celebrations and firsts on this trip!

Alison, my dads mom and dad, Ashleigh (my 21 year old aunt) and I wil be leaving August 23. We are actually flying down while my parents and sibligns drive down. Alisons mom preferred that we flew down, so it's no big deal! We figured everything out. My parents actually do not mind the drive, my dad loves to drive so its not a problem! I actually love the drive because I love going to all the different states, I guess I'll be missing this one :(. But atleast I will be getting there quicker!!

My dads parents and my aunt will be staying at The Shades of Green. My grandpa is an ex cornel in the army so they stay there. I have stayed there many times, it is a very nice hotel!
My moms parents, her sister and family will be staying at one of the All Stars. I am actually not sure which one.
My immediate family and Alison will be staying at the new Art of Animation hotel! I am super excited to stay there!!! We wil be in the Lion King section, since that is my families favorite movie out of them all. If there was Beauty and the Beast I would totally be staying there, but since there isn't, I'll deal with the Lion King!! But I am so excited to be one of the first families staying there!

We will be in Disney from August 23 to August 31. Not going to lie, this is one of my shorter trips. My daddy works for the company so we get discounts when we go, which makes things cheaper! I will be back soon! I have to start studying for finals!

This is one of the only free time's I have had in a whlile to update you all! Finals week sucks, only 3 more tests to go!! Not gonna lie only thing getting me through finals is me going to Disney!!

Trip Countdown: 69 days!!
Where I am Staying: the New Art of Animation Suites, Lion King!
art-of-animation-sign.jpg

Dates of my trip: August 23-August 31
What we are celebrating: My 16th birthday, my brother's 4th birthday, my grandma's birthday, my moms birthday (it's actually the 31st, the day we leave), Alison's birthday and Alison and I starting senior year later that week when we get back!!
Where we are eating: We are only eating at 3 ADR's this time around, we really enjoy the counter service meals at the restaurants, especially the Contemporary one!! So we have 2 breakfasts and one dinner. We are eating at Norway's Princess Breakfast, Ashkerhaus (totally spelt that wrong!) and Hollywood and Vine with Jake and the Neverland pirates for my brother, that's his favorite show! For dinner we are eating at Cape May, I decided we would eat there because we never have eaten there before and my family loves seafood! So this is where we are celebrating all of our celebrations! Also the restaurant would be newly opened from referb, so I am excited!!

I was actually talking to Alison today and we were talking about the new Dumbo interactive venues and she told me that she has never been on Dumbo because of the long waits. I was wondering if anyone who has been there, if the wait seems as long as it used to be in the sun!

Alison and I have a list of thing we want to do that we have never done before:
- Try Dole Whip
- Take silly pictures with cast members
- Make new friends
- Take many pictures with characters
- Ride all the rides
- See all the shows
-Act like little kids
- Wear tiaras/minnie ears everyday

If you have anything else that you think would make our trip even more memorable, please put your imput!
I hope you're all enjoying this!

WHEW that is a hot week you picked to go - make sure to pack for it! :)

Dole Whip - ooooo making my mouth water just at the mention of it - oh oh and they are nice and cold to cool you off in Orlando in August. LOL!

Now that the new queue is open on Dumbo you'll be inside, away from the sun, and able to enjoy yourselves and relax without standing in the long lines she remembered. I'm jealous!

To answer your comment re: other stuff to make the trip more memorable, the list can go on and on. I think your plan of acting like kids is a great one. Enjoy your trip. Take in the magic of it all.

And make sure to keep your promise of lost of pictures and share them when you get back!

Today is my last final then its SUMMER! Which means I am closer to my trip to Disney! So excited! So a few years ago, 2 or 3 to be exact, my dad's aunt gave us her timeshare. My parents have been trying to get a hotel room there for us, and this weekend they actually did. So our hotel plans are changing.
We are staying at the DAAR from Thursday, the day we arrive, to Sunday. Then that Sunday we are switching over to our timeshare for the remainder of our trip. I am kind of dissappointed but I'll get over it!!!
After all I will be in Disney!
