PS2 question

I have a question about the Playstation 2, not sure where it should have gone, I figured this is like the "catch-all". Well anyways, I want to know whether or not the PS2's DVD player is compatible with DVD-Rs. Not VCD cuz those are crappy, but DVDRs. Any help would be great.

Thanks, that sucks though. Because I bought an Aerosmith concert DVD on EBAY, and it says it is a real DVD (DVD-R to make copies to sell) and it is not VCD or SVCD. It says it's guaranteed to work in North America (region coding) but I guess thats with real DVD players as opposed to the PS2. Oh well, my grandpa has a real DVD player and a DVDROM on his computer, so I guess I can just watch it there.

If it's a real DVD it will work, but a recorded DVD will not work with a PS2, at least they're not supposed to anyway.
