Trip Report Protect the Dolls!-Our 1st Anniversary Trip Report!

Jambo everyone! Welcome to another PartOfYourWorld trip report! I am very excited to be writing this report, seeing as we spent a WHOLE WEEK in Walt Disney World!!! We’ll cut right to the chase and get this thing started first with the basics…

Characters: Me-Jess-25 years old, Disney obsessed, who one day dreams of becoming an Imagineer & my husband-Mike-follows along with my Disney craziness & loves DC comics superheroes. We were married just over one year ago at Sea Breeze Point along the Boardwalk, and it was one of the most magical days of our lives! Here is a picture of us from our wedding last year in Disney (this is my favorite and Mom @LuvsTheMouse took it!)

When: May 10th-18th, 2014

Home Sweet Home: Beach Club Resort

We’re Celebrating: Our 1 year wedding Anniversary!!!

Here we go!!!!!!

Saturday May 10th

Our day started at 8 am heading to the airport!!! We were there in plenty of time for our 10:55 am flight!

We were lucky to have a brand new 800 series plane on our flight down to Orlando, and an awesome exit row seat just with the two of us! And we had a really funny flight attendant to boot. Thank you Southwest for an awesome flight!

After waiting forever for our luggage, we were arriving at Disney’s Magical Express!

So so happy to see this sign again!

After a few stops we arrived at the Beach Club!! First time staying here for both of us!

For me I try to savor every second of this moment…walking into a Disney resort for the first time of every trip. It’s one of my favorite moments because you know you are about to have the trip of a lifetime every time!

Peeking up at some rooms!

We went through our check-in process without even going to a front desk. I thought it was pretty amazing. An attendant with his touch pad came up to ask asked us the usual questions,, we had already checked-in online and had our magicbands. He went and got our welcome package and we were on our way to our room in 5 minutes tops! It was really great!

I love the Beach Club Lobby, especially the smell! I loved walking through it every morning and coming home from the parks every night!

We went on our way to Room 3702! It was a decent walk from the elevators but we didn’t mind!

At first when I walked in, I wasn’t sure how I felt about it (it had nothing on the Boardwalk! Boardwalk is still number 1 in my book!) But after a day we loved it and didn’t take long to feel like home!

Double Sink!

I loved these seashell pillows!

Welcome Home Mickey!

Here’s a picture of us after her first ride!!!!

We headed into Woody and Jessie’s line since it was pretty long while waiting for Jess and Bill to get off of Splash Mountain..Jess had caught us just in time!!

Of course Woody had to be a gentleman and kiss all of our hands….little did he know..we really didn’t want him in the picture..

Jessie was mad she didn’t get a kiss on the hand like we did, and Woody just shook her hand haha

Now for the EPIC JESS PICTURE 2! For those of you who missed the first time around…we took this exact picture in September when we all came back from the girls’ cruise and since we were all in WDW again on the same day we just couldn’t break tradition!

I think Woody was upset he wasn’t in the picture…

After our picture we went our separate ways…Mike and I headed to stake out a spot for Festival of Fantasy on Main Street

Hi beautiful!

We ended up meeting Jess and Bill on Main Street and took some pictures for each other! Somehow this one ended up in my camera…I think Bill was testing it out?

And here’s me with my Ewok ears! Haha

No ears!

We went to grab some Starbucks and found our spot right on top of the Train Station!!! The chairs were all taken but there was a table hanging out so we pulled it close to the railing so we could lean on it…unfortunately we were in the sun but we loved this spot! So then an idea popped into my head! We put some sunscreen on and I put my ewok ears up to shield my head from the sun, while Mike took my sweatshirt I had and just placed the hood on his head to protect his neck from the sun.surprisingly it kept us pretty cool the hour plus we waited!

The marching band coming through

Jess and her family ended up watching it from Main Street near the exit to the Mickey meet and greet…Hi Jess!

Here it comes!

We loved the perspective from up here!

My favorite!

NOOOO!!! I was hoping he would stand up so I could wave at him since we were on eye level….ugh oh well at least I got to see him up close!

Lost Boys!

See ya real soon! I didn’t notice this the last time!

And here is the massive after parade crowd!

We decided to take a much needed break and head out of the Magic Kingdom. We didn’t want to go all the way back to the Beach Club, so we decided to take a monorail resort break! We stopped at the Poly first to see how different it was from when we stayed there in February for the Princess Half. This was taken just days before they walled up the whole first floor…I was happy we got to see it one last time…

The water seemed pretty low to us

The whole second floor was walled off so you couldn’t see down below…

Captain Cooks closed! Can’t believe it was just open in Feb….this hallway was strangely small now…

Bungalows are coming along!

The crane ruins the picture

We decided to walk over to the Grand Floridian! Bathroom mirror shot since I was the only one in the Grand Floridian bathroom!

This bathroom sign is so cute!

We were pretty hungry, so we decided to try out the Grand’s quick service…Gasparilla Island Grill!

Gorgeous view!

I tried some Panini and it was AWESOME! And super filling! Those chips too…OMG I can’t wait to go back here again!

Mike had some chicken nuggets!

We took our time and enjoyed our dinner, then we headed over to the boat dock to grab the boat. We waited a while but we didn’t mind because the views were beautiful.

Monorail Yellow in front of the Magic Kingdom

It was just a picture perfect day

We’re on a boat!

Wedding Pavillion!

Love how this picture came out!

Made a pit stop at the Polynesian!

And we arrived back in the Magic Kingdom!

Don’t we always wish we had this castle?

We watched the glass blower for a little bit!

Seriously, just couldn’t get over this beautiful sky!

We headed through the castle!

And the Mine Train still wasn’t open…

We were feelin pretty hot, so we decided to take a break in Princess Fairytale Hall, they only had Aurora on the sign, but we didn’t care if we just met her..we just wanted some AC!

Unfortunately we only waited 20 minutes in the AC….but we were surprised! Anna and Elsa were still meeting!!! The CM at the front of the line told the little girl in front of us they were gone, but they decided to go through anyways…I was so happy for that little girl…and we got meet Anna and Elsa for the second time!

The picture was much better this time around…and we gave Anna better advice….

Next up was Aurora…and we had a grand ol time with her! Mike told her I was one of here little furry friends from the forest and then she was confused..so he put my hood on and she was so happy! Yep….so I’m now one of Aurora’s furry forest friends!

When we came out into the gift shop…there was MADNESS EVERYWHERE. Apparently they had just put out Anna and Elsa Animator Dolls that were going for like $200+ on ebay….well of course I look at Mike and he knew that I wanted them….so we managed to grab two in the throng of people going nutso. I told him we could send the bag to the front of the park but he insisted on carrying a huge bag with us the rest of the night, he just couldn’t bear to leave Elsa and Anna in someone else’s care. And thus the name of this trip report has been born…for the rest of the night he protected those dolls….more to come on that later…

We headed towards Mickey’s Philarmagic again! We love this 3D show!

We headed back to Fairytale Hall except this time we had fastpasses for Rapunzel and Cinderella!

It was Mike’s first time meeting Rapunzel!

Why can’t we ride it :(

We decided to jump in line for Ariel since we hadn’t met her in her grotto yet..only a 30 minute wait!...or was it??

It ended up taking us almost an hour…I wish we would have gotten out of line….

This Ariel spent like 5+ minutes talking to the teenage girls in front of us…Mike and I had already had enough as you can probably tell by his face here haha

She spent all of one minute talking to us…maybe because we were complaining right before we got up there? Oops…anyways at least she was a decent looking Ariel!

By the time we got out it was already dark out…I was kinda bummed we missed the sunset…

We ended up racing to meet @jesemeca and her family over near the Crystal Palace to watch Wishes. I have no idea how Mike and I made it through the hub..but we did…I say we did a pretty darn good job at it too. We had a pretty decent view despite the wall in that area

Next up we said goobye to Jess’ family, while Jess hung with us and we went to go find @plaz10 and Bill over by Pirates of the Caribbean. It was the three of us girls in one row, and Bill, Mike, Anna and Elsa in the next. Mike did a very good job protecting them from getting wet. It was his top priority.

We tried to convince @jesemeca to join us for a ride on Splash Mountain, but we couldn’t. We said our goodbye’s and goodnights to Jess..luckily I saw her quick the next morning! And headed on Splash Mountain….It got a little squished with Anna & Elsa Bill and Mike but I think they managed pretty well. Except when our faces got blocked on Splash

We may have gone on Big Thunder? I can’t remember. But I know we made a pit stop in Fantasyland at some point and rode The Little Mermaid!

We also made a stop in Tomorrowland and rode the TTA. I think Bill had coined the #4people2dolls1world at this point and when getting on the TTA the CM asked how many and Mike said 4 people and 2 dolls. I don’t think the CM caught on but it was hilarious!

At this point the MK was closing we made it til 1!

Thanks to @plaz10, @jesemeca, and Bill for making our last night a little less sad. It was great spending time with all of you and I hope you had as much fun with Mike and i! We had a great time! And we can’t wait to spend time with Jess and Bill again next year in Norway! (Along with @Howe too!)

Good-bye Magic Kingdom…not sure when the next time I will see you is (right now not until January 2016!) but hopefully it’s before that maybe!

We got back to our room and had a little friend waiting for us…our last night at the Beach Club….

Here are the famous dolls…aren’t they just adorable???

And with that we settled in for our last sleep in Walt Disney World.

Stay tuned for our last morning and my overall thoughts!!!! Promise I will post very soon!

Sunday May 18th
We took our time getting up, and sat on our balcony a bit..and this was the morning I realized we could see Spaceship Earth from our balcony (I think I may have mentioned it in the beginning) couldn’t believe it took until the last day to notice…

Luckily, right when we got up @jesemeca and her family were just finishing breakfast at Cape May Café. I went down to say goodbye to Jess before she headed out for a day at EPCOT. It was really sad that I was leaving, I wish I could stay longer and spend some time with Jess and just more time in the World with Mike. 1 week always goes by fast. It’s not fair!

We took one last look at our room and took our bags to Bell Services. We had some breakfast and wandered around the resorts. It was such a beautiful day out.

Can you tell I love this place much?

Yep. That’s my favorite spot

We decided to take one last ride on the Friendship boat over to Hollywood Studios and back

Then we had some shakes at Beaches n’ Cream and sat outside enjoying every last bit of Florida we could

Reluctantly we made our way back out to the front of the resort…taking as many pictures as I could along the way

I love the smell of this lobby

And with that we were on the un-magical express back to the airport…

Of course with that one last look the tears came flowing knowing it will be awhile before we get back here. The week long trip we were looking forward to was already over! But going to Norway next year on a Disney Cruise at least will be a new and totally worth it experience and we can’t wait!

We got to the airport had our usual McDonald’s dinner and had an uneventful flight back. And back to the harsh reality of work and unpacking the next day. Oh well I guess it happens to all of us at some point.

I want to thank each and everyone of you for reading my trip report, I wouldn’t do it if it wasn’t for you!!!!

Final Thoughts

The Beach Club: Not my favorite resort, doesn’t make it into my Top 5 either, I would much rather prefer the Boardwalk. I also think the rooms need a little bit of a refurb as well. But you can’t beat the area. The EPCOT resort area is my/our favorite with easy access to two parks!!! Stormalong Bay was really fun too! But there were a lot of people in the pool obviously, and I guess we’re weird and not huge fans of that but I’m glad we got to try it out one day at least! But I wouldn’t mind staying here again!

Everything Else: We have everything good to say! We never had any problems this trip that stands out in my mind, we had the best trip (besides our wedding trip) but it was nice to relax and take it slow the whole time rather than worrying about a wedding or being go go go. I’ll admit and I’ve said it before I have become a total deluxe snob. But I still wouldn’t mind staying in a value for a quick trip! Can’t wait for the next one!

Fastpass+:
Used it and never had a problem. Honestly though I didn't make any reservations before our trip started. I did the night before we went to each park. In some cases we didn't even use them and ended up letting it go. We love using it! So much easier to enter into the park and pay for everything.

Again, thanks again for reading my report, I truly appreciate it! The next trip right now for Mike and I is our Disney Cruise to Norway in June 2015, which will be coming up super fast!!!! Will be doing a lot of research for it! So hopefully it will keep my mind off of missing my Walt Disney World too much!!!!

Also have a quick 3 night December cruise on the Dream with my mom so keep an eye out! But I'm not ready for winter to come just yet! I love summer and the warmth too much!

See ya real soon!!!! Thanks again for tuning in!!!!!

OMG, Jess, those pictures from Cali Grill!!!! :inlove: No one would be able to resist taking dozens of pictures of that view and that sunset. What a great anniversary dinner surprise for you two.

Loved your Mulan tank! (and is it just me, or did that Snow White go a little too extreme with the teeth whitener? LOL) Laughed my head off at Mike's expression in the SSE descent video. :joyfull:

Great report, beautiful pictures, especially love the Flower & Garden pictures, they are just gorgeous (and it's my favorite time of year!)

Looking forward to the rest, and dying of curiosity about the title...:p

Oh, Jess, this picture is FANTASTIC!!

Friday and Saturday were picture-perfect days, and you made the best of them. Gorgeous shots from both Epcot and MK and Boardwalk and everywhere else!! And the Jess/Jessie re-take--classic! So glad you guys got to do that again.

Edit: Ha-ha-ha, I continued reading and noticed in your next post that you also described the day as picture perfect! And then I swooned some more over your pictures from around the Seven Seas Lagoon! So real, I felt like I was there. :D

What a great last day you had! Great to see @plaz10 and @jesemeca in your trip report, too!!

The dolls are really very pretty. I LOL'd that Mike & Bill got the back seat with them.

I agree with you, I prefer the Boardwalk to the Beach Club and especially love being able to walk into two parks.

It's always sad at the end of a WDW trip, but at least you always write a trip report so you can re-visit your memories anytime.

This report was downright addicting--I couldn't stop reading it, my lunch hour ended a very long time ago  and I'm way behind at work!!!:p
