Hey everyone! Just want to say how excited I am about joining the WDWCP in the near future. I'm a Senior in HS right now, but I will be in the program as soon as I get to college and get accepted. Which brings me to my question for all of you: Can I apply for the program in my first semester of college, or do I have to wait until I officially complete the first and apply during my second semester? I e-mailed the recruiting FAQ on the website and they did tell me that I am welcome to apply during my first semester, but I want to hear from those who have actually done this. Although I know that they've answered me already, I just wanted to see if any of you have done this before I get my hopes up too soon. My intentions are to apply for the '08 Spring Advantage program when Fall '07 comes around. I want to get into the program as soon as I can because I'm soooo excited. Even if I'm not allowed to be in the Spring Advantage which starts in Jan., then at least I'll be able to start the Fall advantage only a few months later in May. Thanx for your comments if any of you can help me out. :animwink:

You can apply during your first semester. I did, and got accepted to Spring 2005. Now I am on my 2nd CP. Good luck, and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

It depends on your college. For example, LSU requires 30credit hours for you to go.

I plan on going to Miami-Dade College, which is pretty much a community college, so it's not a "university". Do you know if the credit requirements are lower for these types of colleges or not?

The best I can tell you is to go to your local recruitment meeting and find out, or contact somebody at Miami-Dade College.

Wow, this is a big relief! Thanx for responding. Has doing the program put you behind any on your credits or has it remained pretty level? I want to do the CP as many times as I can before "officially" working for Disney but I don't want it to interfere with my graduation time or anything like that.

It will surely set you back. Disney only offers a few courses and not all colleges accept all of them. I can only afford to go one time because it will set me back a semester, and I want to graduate in 4 years.

Actually, it has only put me behind one semester because I received credits for both CPs. So I am not that off. I too want to do as many CPs as I can before going full-tim. However, this will have to be my last one until I graduate, when I shall then do another one. But until then I am going to go seasonal and do the summer alumni program.

My hopes are that all that I do during the CP would give me credits, but of course that's clearly not the norm. I just want to work at Disney soooo bad. I wish I could spend all my time in college at Disney, but again, reality takes over :hammer: . I guess I just have to look forward to all of the possibilities I'll have after I graduate and the open doors I'll have waiting for me. I know I'm rushing to get to that point too fast, but sometimes my obsession with WDW overrides any sense of logic...lol. I have the rest of my senior year to calm down and think everything through though :animwink: . Thank you both for your input about the CP, it's helped me a lot.
