Proposal Dinner Set!

Today I finally made my long-overdue call to Disney to arrange priority seating for my proposal to my girlfriend on our trip in two weeks.

Disney was actually quite nice about it. Here's how it went down and what's going on for those of you curious:

I called the usual number and went through to the dinner reservation agent and told them my deal. Disney no longer offers engagement packages like they used to, FYI. But - they are more than willing to help out. My g/f has been begging to go to Cinderella's Royal Table - so that's where I planned to go. I wanted to propose early in the trip so that we could spend the trip engaged. The ealiest time in the week she had for dinner was Wednesday the 6th (we get there on the 5th). So it's not too bad.

The Disney reservationist transfered me to the Royal Table manager (Janice) who told me the drill. First of all, they put a special note in the computer about my proposal. Sometime towards the end of dinner I have to leave the table (bathroom or whatever) and slip the ring to the manager. At desert, they bring the ring over on a white platter with a top on it. On the platter is my ring and a glass slipper (purchasable for $30 as a keepsake). The waiter says something along the lines of "A special something for you, m'lady" and that's when I do whatever it is I'm going to do (I have no idea yet! To get down on a knee or not - that is the question!).

So I'm mega nervous now of course but I have no doubt it will all go down pretty well. All of this is free of charge but, like I said, only $30 if I want to purchase the slipper as a keepsake - which I will.

Anyways that's about it - I'll let you know how it goes. 2 weeks from tommorow!

Congrats man! You've picked a great place to do it. :D

My girlfriend mentioned once that she'd love to be proposed to at Cindy's with the glass slipper and all, so I think I may have to do the same in about 3 or 4 years.

When I was there is May, we ate at the Castle and saw a proposal, everyone in the restaurant was crying it was so romantic. The guy actually gave the host his video camera and the host videotaped the whole thing for him, it was great! Good Luck and Congratulations!!! :sohappy:

I went for the more private thing but I considered doing exactly what you are doing, I wonder sometimes what if... Good luck and enjoy the applause and the start of a new life.

See somehow if the waiter can take your picture or if you have a video camera, tape you. Because it will be a blur in your mind as you think back, being nervous and all. And you will be happy to have a picture to look back to to remember the moment.
I know this firsthand, because I don't remember much else besides the whole Chef Mickey's restaurant staring at me, and some ladies crying. :lookaroun
But my fiancee got the whole moment on tape and we have pictures with Mickey.

Great! I hope my info was helpful to you. Best of luck!

Oh and by the way - I can't believe you guys let the Aubs :hurl: beat you last week. Looked like typical homecooking officials there to me though! :D

awwwwwwwwwwwww

that's so awsome!

if you have a camera w/o a flash sneak the camera to one of the cast members who knows what going down and let them/have them/ask them to take a picture right as the waiter/waitress takes off the top and get the expression on her face. just an idea

good luck!

have a magical vacation
