From what I gather it hasn't failed as a cashless system. Even if it's cost far more to implement to its conclusion that originally budgeted for.

I've skipped DHS the past year...until it gets its act together it's not getting any of my time or money. My last visit there I dealt with 150-180 minute waits for TSMM, Rock N Roller coaster went down numerous times, and while in line for ToT it went down twice on me. Not a fun day.

We've skipped it for 2 years! Going back this year just because I miss Fantasmic ( we do not park hop).

If you're skipping Mermaid, LMA, Animation Academy, Beauty and the Beast, Disney Junior, Indiana Jones, and Frozen, sure you can be in an out if the park by lunch time. But if those shows are new to you and you've only seen them once in your lifetime, your trip to DHS is going to be much more than RnRC, Tower, Star Tours, Toy Story, and done. It's not that DHS has too little, it's that you're skipping over half of it.

You still do TSMM? Me, it's ToT, RnR, Star Tours. DONE! Moving on.

I would love a Tangled musical also. I loved the movie and the music. But that is another little girls thing, and Disney needs to represent boys, more than they do.

How about Mary Poppins? That would appeal to grandparents, parents and kids.

We just finished our vacation at WDW it was great except for DHS. We were hot wanted to use our snacks on dinning plan for ice cream. Our first stop they were closed. Second stop the scanner didn't work and the third stop the scanner didn't work. My wife was extremely angry. Finally found one!!! At Epcot wanted a snack the scanner didn't work but this time the cast memeber typed in the number from the back of our magic band thank God for smart cast members! We also noticed that DHS needs a great deal of improvement nothings changed in 6 yrs. The star wars souveniers are also very cheap looking no creative mickey ears! But the good always out weights the bad. We enjoyed our vacation! Hope this helps someone else if the scanner dosen't work.

You're telling us something we haven't already heard before. Hardly any rides. Rumors of Star Wars Land coming. Meanwhile, we're in limbo. I get it. Next!

I've hit your first and second problem but I've never been at DHS when ToT went down. The only reason I go there is my family likes the show and I like ToT. If there was no ToT I wouldn't go to DHS at all.

Tower to go down is bad. It would only happen with a major power outage or if one side was already shut and the other goes tech.

My problem with DHS isn't so much the removal of attractions without replacing them, or the fact that it's clearly a half day park (or a full day, depending on how willing you are to wait 2 hours to spend 2 minutes with Buzz and Woody)-but when they closed Sid Cahuenga's One of a Kind Shop, I knew the park wasn't quite the place I grew up with.
It was a personal tradition to go there once a visit and buy a reasonably-priced lobby poster or photo, while drooling over their more expensive original movie props (They had Burt's Jolly Holiday jacket from Mary Poppins!). And these posters really were one of a kind, not the reprinted ones you can buy at countless websites today. To this day, I still have my gigantic Hunchback of Notre Dame poster with Clopin hanging up, along with my promo photo of Fred MacMurray in Son of Flubber.
They had unique souvenirs that weren't just t-shirts and mugs that every. single. shop has for sale. And then it closed for good. Not the biggest of problems that park has for sure, not by a stretch, but it's definitely a personal disappointment.

My biggest problem with DHS are the touring logistics. Tight walkways, bizarre layout and the timing of all of the shows. It makes it a real chore getting around the park and seeing everything - with all of shows being at staggered times, it makes your attraction windows really tight. Couple in the fact that there are relatively few family style attractions, and you've got a mess. The e-ticket attractions keep DHS alive in my opinion - ToT, RnRC, ST and TSMM are first class rides but the fact that they are basically the ONLY rides causes massive waits.

So in short, this park needs : improved traffic flow, more C and D ticket family dark rides and finally, updated shows with improved timing. That is all

If you're a regular visitor to WDW and have been to the DHS over a dozen times like most of us, this IS what we find for the most part. Granted if someone has never been to DHS before there are many things to do and see that can easily take up an entire day.

I am a regular at DHS. I see the problems just like you do. I just don't include the hyperbole.

DHS has always been my least favorite, even when I was a kid and they had the Backlot Tour. Now I only go there to ride TOT and RNRC. I probably would skip it on this next trip but it's my husband's first time at WDW and I think he should see it for himself. Plus, I've never been to Starring Rolls and I've heard lots of great things about that place so I wanna' try it out.

Last time I visited was on my birthday of last year. I struggled to find things to do. The only thing I loved was Toy Story Mania! I think they should add more rides to that park. Make it a little more modern, if you're going to have tours so it relates to kids.
I just found there to be a lot of empty spots within the park....

I kind of feel like the park was never really running at 100%. I went the first year it opened and I remember it being basically half-finished then, and it sort of feels like they never really caught up. It was getting close for a while when RnR opened and then...well, we all know the rest. I don't think I've ever spent an entire full day there, even as a kid.

I had a nice time this week. I'm pregnant so didn't do the thrill rides. I also skipped Toy Story. I did the Muppets, Great Movie Ride, Walt exhibit and movie, Art of Animation and drawing class, Indiana Jones. Left and had dinner at Boma, and returned for Fantasmic. Rested for about 45 minutes with a snack and there was waiting for a couple of shows.

I feel deprived if I don't do TSMM...It's the only thing I am competitive about...
