problem with wdw reservations

You booked a package. When you check into the resort you will receive all of your package components. You will get your room key which has your ticket media encoded on it. That is how the packages work, you buy everything together and pay for it together.
If you want your tickets ahead of time i would call WDW immediately and have them take off the ticket media from your package and purchase your tickets online or with Disney reservations as a seperate purchase. Make sure you get all of the "add ons" you want and double and triple check it.

That does sound kinda silly/nuts.
Call back, tell the reservations person to make you a room-only reservation (be sure to check with mousesavers.com to see if you qualify for any discounts or savings for the period while you're at it).
Just make sure you're outside your cancelation/modification period.
If anything - it's because you asked for a room and tickets, so they booked you as a packaged - thus, your tickets print when you arrive at the room. That's the most basic simplistic room-package that Disney sells with tickets in its computer system. It could entirely be sold to you as tickets which could be mailed to you, and then the room - just as long as its not some special deal like a dining plan, or a discount plan that has the special rate because they're grouped together, ya know?
So, yes, call - clairfy. They'll understand, and if they don't, ask to be transfered up to someone else further up the chain to get it taken care of.
In short, you unwittingly seemed to have booked a "package" when you really meant to book a room, and buy tickets too.
