Problem with DC-Torrents

I got out of school and decided to try DC-Torrents out. I am using ABC now, but the downloads are going extremely slow over my broadband connection. Anyone know why this is happening and if there is a way for me to make it go faster? I love the availability of files, but I don't want them to take hours upon hours to download.

I really don't know much about torrents, but I've found that the smaller number of people downloading means a slower download.

^ yep, it depednds on how many people are sharing that file, and how fast their upload speeds are.

Torrents are basically just distributed file sharing. If five people want to get a file and only one person is sharing it, then all five need to share the connection to that one person. If nobody is sharing it, then nobody else can download it.

The key to using torrents is to be patient. I've been able to download gigs of files quickly, and I've also had small files take forever. If you need to stop your download, you can always resume it later.

Also remember that DC-Torrents is sharing some rare stuff that you can't find any more, so it's really worth the wait.
