Problem tossing the snorer out?

A group of us will be sharing a family suite in AoA. One of them is a horrible snorer so we are putting him in the bedroom with a door between him and the rest of us. We will also have an RV out in the parking lot. Will any Disney staff give us a hard time if we banish him to the RV to spend the night? (I really am serious!) Thanks All!

I don't see how they would even know he was going there for the night (as opposed to just collecting something he'd forgotten)... unless his snoring is so loud that it can be heard from outside the RV! If your snorer is a bought-and-paid-for guest on a legitimate room reservation (in other words, it's not like you've got someone sleeping in the car in order to evade the guests-per-room limit) and if it's not bothering anyone or creating a hazard, I don't see why he couldn't take a snooze in his vehicle if he wanted to.

In the meantime, suggest that he experiment with Breathe Right strips, or consult his MD to see if a CPAP machine is called-for. CPAP machines have done wonders for the couple of terrible snorers in my family!

I guess if the RV's generator is running all night to keep it cool, security may get suspicious. Otherwise, I doubt anyone would notice.

Honestly Like Weather Lady sadi if he is a paid guest what's the difference? Explain you threw him out due to the snoring and that someone from the neighboring room even complained.
I agree Check into a CPAP severe snoring is anindicator of something more serious.

I doubt they'd care much, even if they did notice.

I agree with other posters - have him talk to the doc and arrange a sleep study. He might have sleep apnea and need bipap. :)

My dad was a chronic snorer and unfortunately I've inherited that horrible gene. Earplugs or a soft Alicia Keys album were the only things that used to put me to sleep when we'd travel with him. :)

I doubt they can question anyone sleeping in an RV - it is an RV. Someone sleeping in a car may be questioned. But in regards to snoring - as others have said, he may have sleep apnea.

I can't help with the rv part, but whenever we travel I bring ear plugs. It doesn't totally drown out DH, but when I combine it with a nature sounds app on my phone- all is usually good.

My husband is a snorer. We bring a fan when we travel, it helps drown him out. Since you're driving an RV, that might be an option for something to pack. He also uses the breathe right strips, and I've been checking out some new options too that get good reviews. I don't think anyone from Disney would care if he slept in the RV.

They have those plastic things you tape over the bridge of your nose these days. I don't recall what they are called but it is supposed to alleviate snoring. Have you tried that?

As long as he's a paying customer (for resort) the only thing I can see them having an issue with would be of you all had a generator running all night. Idk what kind you have but the Honda generators are real quit and should be enough for just the a/c I would think.

Love the idea of the fan! I'll get that boxed up today! He says he can't sleep with nasal strips or the CPAP machine. I do suspect he has sleep apnea but he won't admit it. Why else would a doctor even prescribe the CPAP? Thanks All!

If a doctor prescribed it, he NEEDS it. I don't mean to meddle in your family's affairs, but sleep apnea (or rather, the increase in the risk of sudden cardiac arrest and other complications which it causes) kills people. My mother didn't think she could sleep with a CPAP, either. Then she spent a night at a sleep clinic and found out how many times in the night she had stopped breathing! She started using the CPAP and quickly adjusted to it. She actually found its gentle hum and whooshing sounds to be comforting white noise. She also slept better (and thus felt better) than she had in decades. I know it's not my business, but if I were you I would encourage your husband to give the CPAP an earnest try.

DH hates the nasal strips too - he ends up on the couch sometimes, haha. My cat is always happy to take his spot. He's never asked about a CPAP machine either, but his dad has a sleep apnea so he probably should check on that. I have a stubborn hubby though, he won't go to the doctors.

I had a friend the same way. He complained that he couldn't sleep with it until he did the study. Now he tells me he cant sleep without it.

I was at the beach club villas one year and in the A M I was on my balcony and looked down to a lower balcony and lo and behold someone was sleeping out there on a pool lounger! That might be in option?
