Priority Seating Cancellations

I was just on the disney world website, looking at resturants, and saw this under many of the restuarnts:

A cancellation policy applies and may result in charges if you cancel with insufficient notice. Specific policies related to this facility will be detailed at time of reservation booking.

I haven't made priority seating in a while. What are the cancellation policies, and do they require a credit card or deposit now?

I know that when making ADR for some restaurants, you have to give a cc# for a guarantee in case you don't cancel in time, like for the Fantasmic dinner packages, you have to cancel before 48 hours or you will be charged a fee per person. The last time I made a reservation at CRT, we weren't charged because of dining plan, but they still had to have a cc # for a guarantee. Not sure if it is still the same way though since this was last year. We ended up having to cancel that because of trip date changes and wasn't able to get an ADR for it this trip.

Its only for some of the very popular spots - Cinderella's Royal Table, California Grille, Princess Storybook Breakfast (and maybe other meals), dinner shows, and possibly a few others.

I booked an ADR for Coral Reef for our April trip this year, and I wasn't asked for a credit card number or given any warning about any cancellation policies. Of course, I did my initial booking back in October, so they could have said something and I just forgot since then.

But it could be that they didn't ask for credit card info because they already had it on the system from when I booked my resort package. However, if this is the case, and if I cancel without notice, they'll have a heck of a time charging me any fees to my credit card, since I have since cancelled the card and had a new one re-issued.

I think the warning you're referring to is just a generic "cover-all" warning that they use.
I have made several reservations for Sept and had to give card info for Cindy's and Akershus. For Boma, and Hollywood and Vine they didn't ask for any card numbers. Like someone else said, it's just the really popular things that they take the cards on and will charge you for if you don't show. If I remember correctly, it was the full amount for CRT, but Akershus was $10 or something...

I didn't make a reservation for Fulton's a year ago and found $50 was charged. I called and asked why so much, they said $25 per head.

I spoke with the manager the next day and told him why we missed out and couldn't call (member of party who was three started losing her lunch all afternoon and took to local hospital) and he refunded the money and offered us another reservation that night.

Be sure to cancel in the time they give you... or that's one expensive non dinner!
