Princessland and Avatar

We already know Disney is in the process of building these lands so this thread is not about that. Princessland, I mean Fanastyland is already halfway there.

While Avatar is an environmentally amazing CGI movie, I think the movie itself was horrible. Why would Disney want to associate itself with a movie about murdering a peoples way of life?

With that for that, I think Disney is going too girl centric. I can understand Disney's reasoning, I mean I would exploit a multi billion dollar franchise to. But the whole Princess meet and great, and princess land is just crazy. If they wanted to, better rides, shows and other things could be made.

So, how does the Storybook Circus portion of the expansion fit into your Princess Land description? Avatar has and is being discussed ad nauseum on other threads so Im not going to comment on that here.

Or The Little Mermaid ride, which as I can say from seeing it in person, isn't overly "girly" IMO. Or Gaston's which should be obviuosly "manly".

Heaven forbid we remember that movies like Beauty and the Beast, Snow White and Little Mermaid were not strcitly made by or for girls 3-10 (hard as Disney marketing may try at times).

Not sure if we saw the same movie, but the movie I saw was about how destroying nature and intruding on one's way of life was wrong.
Thus making it fitting for Animal Kingdom.

Agreed. It's easy to say the "Princess" movement has taken over the park, but then there's Adventureland, Frontierland, Tomorrowland......

And yes Disney marketing has been pushing hard at that demographic, because obviously there's some gold in them thar proverbial hills. But there's plenty to do and see outside of the Princesses, and I have little doubt this trend will subside to a degree over time as well.
