I have a 6 year old daughter and we will taking our first trip to Disney for a three day vacation around Thanksgiving. She loves princesses and I want to keep this trip as princess-packed as possible because I doubt we'll be able to go back before she grows out of this obsession. Straight to the point, will booking Cinderella's Royal Table more than once in the same trip, or CRT and Akershus in the same trip, spoil the magic for her? I'm worried she'll notice that different women are playing the same princesses. Has this happened to any of your children before? All advice is appreciated.

CRT is a great place to meet the princesses, along with Akershus, but don't forget about Park Fare at GF. That one is strictly Cinderella and her step sisters (along with her prince). I don't think she would notice different people playing the characters at that age. Disney does such a good job of casting and makeup; plus the characters that do the dinners are often the best portrayal of the character (versus a M&G).

Thank you for your input. I do also have a Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner reservation but I'm not sure if it will suit our touring plans just yet to leave the park for it.

My suggestion is to do Cinderella's Royal Table and 1900 Park Fare. Akershus has the same princesses (usually) as Cinderella's Royal Table. At 1900 Park Fare Cinderella will come to the table as will Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine, and the Stepsisters. The stepsisters and Lady Tremaine are hilarious!

Agreed. 1900 Park Fare is great character-wise and not too bad food-wise. IMO, it's a much better experience than CRT and my two daughters will agree with that.

We also enjoy Akershus to get the chance to meet the other princesses. Be aware, however, that the Norwegian menu is unique and doesn't suit everyone. (The kids menu is standard kids menu stuff, so you should be safe there.) That said, I can wholeheartedly recommend the kjøttkaker...my must-have meal when at Akershus.

Have you looked into doing the princess makeover at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique? They offer different packages, but the highest package includes a dress, hair/makeup and sash. Basically she would get to look like a princess ALL day!

I have a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique reservation but, again because I was late in planning, the only thing available was at the Downtown location at lunch time. I haven't canceled it yet but I think I will because I hate to lose all the time in the park since we'll only be there three days. Seems a waste to do that much traveling from place to place in the middle of the day. That's not to say I won't get her all fancy on my own in the hotel room though. :)

Our kids never seemed to notice that the princesses have different "friends" on different days. We've only ever done one meal with them on a trip, but we've always gone to the different meet and greets. DH & I have commented to each other when we see the same one on different days, though. :) And once Aladdin seemed to remember us from a previous days' visit.

As for whether to schedule multiple meals, I'd do one at each Akershus & CRT (or 1900 Park Faire as PP mentioned) rather than the same meal more than once.

Ah..yeah that wouldn't be worth it. You can always check the day of and see if they have any openings. But like you said, you can always buy the dress and do all the rest on your own. You can even get glitter sprinkled on her hair (for free) once you get to MK :)

Has she ever noticed that there are a lot of different Santas around at Christmas? If not, I wouldn't worry about her noticing the different versions of the princesses.

My daughter didn't notice the difference in princesses when we went last year and she was 5. But different kids observe different things. We also went on a cruise that trip and she went to BBB for the princess makeover and the pirate one and had the same Fairy Godmother in Training and even with the FMIT hinting that "her sister" helped my daughter the previous time, my daughter had no clue what she was talking about.

There is only one true Santa. I've seen him at Epcot. In spite of what my grownup mind tells me about Santa, I was convinced that he was legit.
That for real is a legit Santa at Epcot. I was convinced he came down to vist from the North Pole and was going to bring me everything I asked for!

My daughter started noticing the different friends of the princesses at around age 6. She still had a lot of fun meeting them, though. By age 7, the princess obsession had completely faded so enjoy it while it lasts!

This will vary, but generally performers statused at character meals are newer and get later bids. Character meals tend to be less desirable among the friends of the characters.
